This product is a waste of time and money. Keeps beeping signaling a stud is present. I drilled , and I could not find any.
Because of this piece of junk, I made many holes in my wall, all in the wrong place.
I am returning this thing, and getting one that works from another place.

This product is a waste of time and money. Could not accurately find the stud in sheet rock. Even when I knew where it was passed over it.

I bought this to hang some shelves in the garage, I can see where the studs are but have some upcoming projects in the house where I can't see the studs. So I popped in a battery and start moving this thing across the wall smoothly and constantly. I accurately found one stud over a 10' span. This device is too sensitive to speed changes and surface imperfections, I tried using it on the textured walls inside the house and it beeps all the time. Go to [@] and get one that works!!

Stud finders save a lot of time when doing repair work on existing construction. Past experience indicates to me that this Pittsburg brand item will work as good/great compared to the other big name brands in other stores.
