I tried these on some 20 gauge steel and it pretty much won't cut it. The blades looked sharp and fit tight, they just didn't want to work. It did cut 26 gauge steel fine. The smaller regular size version of these snips will cut 20 gauge OK, but it's hard on the hands. That's why I thought these larger snips would work better, but I guess not.

Worst snips EVER. when closing BIG gap and will not cut.. Going to toss them as they are useless to me.I am a tool maker and need to cut material from .001" to .030 metal EI: cold rolled, brass, copper.. Not likely with these..

Lg Blade aviation snips... Poor Quality. Jammed when cutting aluminum sheet. Would'nt cut up a credit card. I've shopped in your stores for many years from Lake Worth, Fl to Lake City, Fl. & many in between Most always more than satisfied. Lake City store poorly stocked... Staff is "green" Little trades experience...Etc
Not Useful ...

Normally, I love HF products. Not these; I tried to like them, but I'd avoid them if I were you... As one reviewer said, a straight cut on a thin gauge metal, and it might work. Anything else, expect warped and twisted metal - not clean cut metal. Attempting to find some use for these, I tried to use these as garden shears on kindling sized twigs, but to no avail. It doesn't take much pressure at all to pull the jaws away from one each other, which may explain why these don't work so very well. It kind of hurts my sensibilities to throw away something that looks like a useful tool, but I can't really think of a reason to keep these in my workshop.
Borderline Terrible

I bought these snips to make about six cuts in 28 gauge Z metal flashing. I was hoping that I could save a little money and I was almost positive they could handle such a light job. They wouldn't even make one cut! I am returning them.
