We're having heavy snowmelt flooding and my sump pump is running almost constantly the past few days. The power went off last night at 1:30am with 500gph of water flowing into my basement. I quickly fired up my pickup, attached extension cords all the way to the sump pump and with the truck idling, it ran the pump for 3 hours till the power was restored. I figured the frequent on/off cycling of the pump's switch would have killed the inverter but it didn't. Really saved my rear.

I mounted this unit permanently in the trunk storage area of my Chevy Volt. The battery is located there also, so I only needed a short hookup cable. Used a 250A circuit breaker, with a built-in on-off switch. Keeping the car in the "on" position, the engine will start and charge the battery as needed. I run all sorts of power tools, and even a parabolic heater (on low setting) and the inverter works without issue. The fan does sound pretty loud when drawing high current, but so far the fan is doing it's job and hasn't failed. I was so happy with this unit I bought a second to have in case I need one that's more portable. Another good purchase from HF, and at a great price!

Bought this over a month ago and today the power in our house went out on this cold winter day. Plugged this in connected it to an extension cord and plugged our corn stove in to give us some heat. Right now it's running my corn stove, laptop, and internet connection. It get's the job done! Great Purchase.

I have been using these in my glass trucks for years, they are very dependable.We power belt sanders,extractor tools,vacuums,etc. They are much quiter than the alternative(generators).We abuse them so when they "break"(rarely) on us in the field,we unscrew the cover and replace the fuses(cheap automotive type,available everywhere!) GOOD TO GO!!

I used this inverter on a 2 week 3,000 mile road trip. I powered a minifridge from about 7am till 9pm ish every day, along with charging various small things like cell phones and cameras. I left the inverter hooked up even when we would park the truck and go hiking for a few hours, i do have 2 batteries though. Also left it on after arriving at camp each night, kept the beer cold. The inverter worked well and the fan only kicked on occasionally for less than 30s and only when the fridge compressor was starting up. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I have not had a moments problem with this unit (previous model) since my wife got it for me to run my CPAP machine while camping. I had large batteries from UPS units that I use to power it.

Very useful inverter! I routinely use this inverter to run a small A/C air compressor with tank to run air tools on the trail or to reinflate tires on my Jeep after 4 wheeling.

During a power outage, I used this to run my refrigerator. Because I was using a car battery, I did have to switch the battery 3 or 4 times during the power outage. Also, the alarm for overload would sound when the refrigerator motor was turning on - inverter never failed. A refrigerator definitely draws too much power for continuous use, but desparate times call for desparate measures.

Also used to power a Television, computer, etc (separately from refrigerator) during a power outage

The biggest downside is the inverter cables broke after 2 years.

I have a 98 Jeep Wrangler that I use for a light trail Jeep (camping, fishing, hunting, hauling)/ Daily Driver. I purchased this unit for emergency power/ power on the trail. Originally, I was just going to use it to charge my 18v tools and cell phone (don't have a car charger for the cell). However, after playing around with it for a while trying to break it (which I couldn't) I quickly re-tasked this puppy. When I got my Jeep I put a cold-air intake kit on the stock 4.o, but never removed the stock air box. This ended up being the perfect place to mount this unit under the hood to keep it dry and easily accessable. Now I use it in combination with the HF 12,000lb Badlands winch and 14" Electric Chainsaw to clear trees off the trail. It does kick the breaker when it bogs down into a wet oak/maple, but as long as you cut slow and let the saw do the work and don't force the saw into the tree it works great. Then you can hook the winch to the tree move it out of your way and keep truckin'. This inverter has helped me free-up a ton of cargo space not having to haul an 18" full size gas-powered chainsaw, mixed gas, and the whole works when going on a quick outing. The trio of inverter, saw, and winch will be in all my trail rigs in the future.

Bought it a year ago to replace an Older wore out Coleman inverter. Thought I would burn it out in a week. The Unit has been hard worked example tree and brush clearing Fence building Goat ranch Use. When [*] get somthing right they get it right. In Short a [*] good product. It Works and works well & Super compact size Just the looks are cheezy. Sorry and Cheap looking cables. But I have had to admit. it is a good product
