I bought this rack to use as a coffin hauler, it works great, unless the bodies weigh more than 225. Its hard to hoist them up at that weight but I believe the rack could hold 300+ pounds.

Great value! Box was missing a couple pieces of small hardware and our customer service call landed us in Inda. We had purchased a canoe and waiting to pick it up so chose a trip to the hardware store over waiting for pieces. Center of canoe is 37 inches, it is 14 feet long, and fits on the rack really well. And here's the great part....our two bicyles fit underneath the canoe. Plus, we like being able to remove the upper part when not in use. This rack was installed on Toyota Tacoma. In spite of the missing pieces we rate this high because of the quality and affordability.

Good value for the money. Blind fasteners were a bit tricky at first but after found trick to them no problem! The trick is screw bolt that sets them all the way in and do reverse what the directions say, hold wrench that is towards truck (the wrench they tell you to turn clockwise) and turn the outer bolt while pushing in on bolt with pressure. After I got a hang of that it was all gravy, installed in about 2-2 1/2 hours!


I am very pleased with this rack! Oh and one more thing you can remove them for a night out on the town, if you will ( just like the EXPENSIVE weekender by weather guard) Harbor freight should put that in their advertisemnt, the fact that they are removable, they would probably sell more!

some people find this rack hard to install.but others learned how to do it quickly, and left suggestions on the review section, it seems you moght try reversing the bolt installations per the suggestions.

After finding a way to watch these blind fasteners from the back side, I would only use them for light duty only. Plan on finding a way to use regular nuts, bolts and washers. That makes the instalation a little more complicated.

Had to modify brackets to install around my tool boxes, and was not able to use hardware that came with kit. I weld bracket to the bed sides for max strength.

Missing one of the brackets--took 6 weeks to get its replacement. This was not a part that could be sourced elsewhere, so I was left waiting.

Blind fasteners proved impossible to install in most spots.

Had to cut away at part of the bedliner to install.

A year later, I've installed this rack onto a trailer using other nuts and bolts. It fits securely there.

This unit is inexpensive, but you'll pay for it in other ways.

Needs an adapter for the front post in order to mount on 2006 F150 Super Crew. Now I have a few extra holes and some cuts out of the bedliner. Also had missings parts.
