I bought one today from the Apopka store and used it to balance my motorcycle tires. It is very easy to put together and easy to use. It would be nice if it came with some stick-on wheel weights but Harbor Freight sales those also.

I bought my stand a couple of years ago and am impressed by its quality. The only thing I did to it was to weld one small triangular piece of steel to each vertical leg where they attach to the horizontal base plate to improve their stability from side to side movements. A really good piece and well worth the price!

I use this stand for wheel truing. All you need is a dial indicator and magnetic base and t works great for it. I would strongly recommend it,

Bought the balancer because of it's extremely low price; I really was surprised to find that it was as well made as it is. The frame is fairly rigid and the rollers work smoothly. It is rare that I feel like I have gotten more than I paid for, but with this balancer, I did. Shaft was true also.

I want to start this off saying I got the "Pittsburgh" stand in the orange cardboard. So I was wary when I bought this stand because of the negative reviews, but considering the options this is the cheapest route to balanced wheels (homemade stands are difficult to build to any decent level) so I took it. Glad I did. I did not receive a bent axle like so many others have. I would guess this is not a coincidence, more like HF and Pittsburgh read all the bad reviews and fixed the problem. The axle is just a bit long and does touch the mounting plates slightly, increasing friction and making it more difficult to balance wheels correctly. This did not stop me from balancing both my wheels, but it did make it a longer process and I intend to dremel ~1/4" off the end as others have to give the axle clearance (a free modification in my book). So the stand is not perfect but is built to a (relatively) incredible price, and I completely understand that when building things like this in Asia and then letting customers in America put them together there can be clearance/functional issues so a tiny bit of modification to make a $40 stand act like an $80 stand is acceptable (to me).

Overall, great product. Did not encounter bent shaft mentioned by the others, but the shaft was too long and was pressing against the support bars defeating the purpose of the device. Remedied by cutting off about 1/4" from shaft so it could roll freely on the wheels.

Its just not for road, but MX m/c! I see so many pro MX riders go with out balancing their wheels thinking it makes no difference, and they are so wrong. I laugh when I see these guys buy the latest wheels and tires and they don't balance their wheels. They might as well put on their stock wheels.



All they have to do is go full blast on a smooth paved road on their Moto Cross M/C and realize their bike is being shaken apart. Then they get it.
