The 1.5 HP 7" bridge tile saw is designed for cutting ceramic tile, quarry tile, marble, terra-cotta and slate up to a maximum thickness of 1-1/8" when cutting at a 90 degree angle, or 3/4" when cutting at a 45 degree angle. The design also accommodates cut lengths up to 20" long, 14" diagonally. This versatile tile saw includes a miter gauge and splash guard.

I decided to upgrade from my basic tray-underneath table wetsaw after falling into an unplanned shower re-tile project. My old saw was a real pain. The fence was hard to keep aligned, working with tile over 6 inches wide was hard, and I always got soaked. I looked at a number of sliding tray saws at the big box stores. Decided on this one based on price and how it looked in HF store. I have no regrets. Cuts were simple to keep straight on 12 inch marble. I had concerns at first, but then determined that the tile were a little off square and saw was dead on. Minimal water throw allowed me to set the saw up in the bathroom. A little dust, but to be expected. I did not need to make diagonal or bevel cuts for this job, but it appears these would be easy to handle. This is a quality wet saw.

1. THE MOTOR IS NOT SEALED. It should be. The cooling air and water mist enter the rear of the motor and exhaust into the guard. There are several 1. " air holes into the guard. This lets more water into the motor. In storage the motor will rust and not start. To dry out the motor take the discarge hose off the pump and put it in a bucket of water so it will not run dry. Then run the motor for 1 or 2 minuets to dry out the motor for storage. {no water flowing to the guard} 2. THE WATER DOSE NOT HIT THE BLADE. Even thou it enters the top of the guard - Resulting in dry cutting and dust and short blade life. The water goes everyware except on the blade. This is because the cooling air from the motor exhaust into the guard. This air forces the water away from the blade and to the outside of the guard. 3. MODIFICATION REQUIRED: Get some 1/4" hose and 1. 1/4" "T" or "Y" fitting and 2. 90 degree 1/4" elbows. [auto parts store] Remove the hose from the top of the guard and insert the "Y" or T fitting. Y works best. Tape it to the handle. Run 1/4" hose down the outside of the guard - on each side and insert 90 elbow about 2." below bottom of guard [out of the air flow ]. Duct tape the hose to the guard. Turn the elbows in to get the water close to the blade. This is the way most concrete saws work - water on both sides of the blade. When you get it good drill holes in the guard for screws and secure hoses with 1/4" hose clamps. 4. NO ADJUSTABLE FENCE: It needs one. [like a table saw fence. What they call "fence" is just a fixed backstop with a ruller on top. All it dose is hold the tile square to the blade. You have to mark every tile and aline the blade to your mark. A slow process. 5. Loud and slow: On 5/16" thick porcelin tile it is load and slow. About 1.0 minuets for a 12." cut. Porcelin tiles are the hardest out there. You cannot score them and snap them. 6. PUMP LIFE: The pump will not last long pumping abrasive slurry. Put the pump in a pail of clean water. A 2 to 3 gallon kitchen pail works best. a 5 gallon it too tall. The pump will last 4 times longer. 7. SET IT UP OUTSIDE. Water slurry every where. Have a garden hose and extra bucket to wash the cut tiles clean. Use to hose to fill the pump bucket and clean the saw table now and then. The groves for the 2 back stops get pluged with slurry and the stops will not move. 8. SAW NOT SQUARE TO BACK STOP. This is adjustable. Losen up 4 bolts on one end of the bridge and tap it over a little. Mine came with the bolts already loose. Takes a 13 mm socket. 9. CHIPPS OUT AT END OF CUT. You must go very slow at the end of the cut to minimize this chipping out at the end of the cut. 10. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE. The bridge type saw is the best. You can see well to line up the mark on the tile with the blade. The linear bearings for saw movement are up high, out of the abrasive slurry and stay clean for smppth easy sliding of the saw into the fixed tile. It's worth $200. I bought a more expensive blade to cut the my extra hard porcelin tiles. The cut is very smooth. No chipping along the edges - just at the end of the cut if you cut too fast. I did a front hallway with 78 - 12" x 12" porcelin tiles and it came out great - after one day of modification to the saw.

    I read everybodys review Pro's and Con, and I have to ask my self if everyone was using it backwards as far as the water issue? You only need a little water on the tile. No need for modification on the water. 1.5 motor was awesome compared to the little table unit I was using which some are selling for $90! I was going to check and see if the water nozzle had a spray adjustable tip, confirmed by my friend on other units. I got it out of the box and my friend says "Your gonna love it! I was cutting 20 inch tiles with a brezze.
    The small unit was bogging down, and my friend who is a professional talked me into getting something stronger. I shopped around on the internet and kept comeing back to this for wattage. As far as the breakage, Start it up and let water get to the tile and then start cutting. Remember tile is a mud, with a glaze, fired in an oven. If its breaking, let up a bit, don't force. Tile could be a cheap grade? Flush pump out after each use. For the price, I would buy another one if I have to.

        I picked up this saw for a 1200 sq/ft total remodel job using 16x16s on the floor, a 5x5 shower and a kitchen back splash, my other saw was out of commission and we needed to get this job done, i stopped by a local HF and said what the heck if it completes this job we made our money. It comes with a 90 day warranty out of the box, i also picked up the the stand made for the saw, as shown in the above pic. Buy a good Rigid Diamond Blade and you are good to go, (the saw does not come with one), don't know about the dust issues in the other reviews, i never had a problem. There was minimal chipping if any, the fence measures true to a 1/32 and the saw tracks straight while cutting. Light weight easy to move and easy to clean, did not get wet at all while cutting, from a contractors point of view who would have ever thought using tools from HF, this saw is on the job until it quits. Bottom line great saw for the money.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

          I returned two other saws before finding this saw, including the MK-170. This saw is far better than other saws in this same price range. Renting a saw would have cost me more. I made over 250 cuts with this saw and never have had an issue. The only negative is that it does kick up a fair amount of dust, it should be used outside! I would recommend this saw to anyone.

              This saw has glowing reviews and they are well deserved. I have used it to cut porcelain and glass tile with straight, mitered, and beveled cuts for a bathroom remodel. All of them are accurate and reproducible. I bought a Rigid blade and the cuts are smooth and effortless. Much more convenient and cheaper than renting a tile saw for 2 weeks...you get to take your time, not have to rush due to a rental deadline, and work at your own pace. It has paid for itself over and over. I'm VERY happy with this tool. Even if it wasn't on sale in addition to an additional 20% off it is still a bargain. Don't think twice about buying this for your tiling project!

                  Tired of renting wet saws for the occasional tile job, I bought one of these for a complete master bathroom remodel. This thing works every bit as well as the rental units which cost nearly 1K to buy. Actually it is better because it can cut bigger tiles and I am using 8X20-inch tiles on this remodel. Based upon a couple other reviews, I bought a name brand blade. That blade with this saw cuts through tiles like butter, no splintering, cracking or motor hesitation. An awesome saw at an unbelievable price especially with the a 20% off deal for the purchase. Highest reccomendation!!!

MY BROTHER OWNS THREE OF THE BRIDGE SAWS AND LOVES THEM.... BUT I THINK I MADE THE BETTER CHOICE...100 DIAG CUTS LATER I AM CONVINCED...NEVER RENT AGAIN...                             I bought this saw after returning the 7 in portable model (see my review on that one....yikes). This saw is great,I did buy a Ridged blade. Set up was easy, just install the blade and the handle, fill with water and your all set. I was pleased to find out I wasn't going to get a bath while using this saw. The cuts where smooth, no mater how thine a cut I needed to make. The 5/8 arbor allows you to get a high quality blade from anywhere. I've got my tub surround tiled, now onto the floor. This saw workes so great I'll definately be doing more tiling, it makes the job painless........good job HF
