Very good design,easy to install and looks great.
I didn't notice any noise at high speeds.
I had a 20% savings and brought the price down even better. I would recommend.
Side bar clamps will need reinforcement,I drilled one hole and put in a bolt to lock both in place.

this ladder rack was easy to install.i put it on by myself in less than a hour.the directions said to instll on the groud then have someone help you set it onto your truck. i put it on by starting with the bed fastener then put the legs on. it went much faster.

bought this rack to help carry materials for work very strong but will take some fabrication to make it work better the clamp for the upper tube does not grip and allows the tube to slide after tightening the bolts. i hand to weld the tube together. the mounting hardware hooks do not work with my 2004 dodge ram had to buy different bolts to mount it to the bed.

This is a nice, solid rack. Although it's made for a full size truck, I was able to fit it to my Ford Ranger with a few modifications. I shortened the length by cutting 12" off the front tubes. I also lowered the rack a bit by cutting 2 1/2" off the legs (this required drilling new holes for the upper bolts where the legs meet the mounting feet).
As other reviewers have stated, the center clamps that hold the front tubes to the rear tubes are pretty useless. You will have to either weld the tubes together or drill holes and install bolts if you want a solid joint.
After sliding just one board on top of the rack, I found the paint had worn off down to bare metal. There are also some bubbles under the paint where it looks like it was painted directly over rust. Only time will tell, but I think this thing will need to be re-painted in the near future.
Despite these short-comings, I feel it's still a good solid rack for the price.

This thing is very strong. It's also very heavy. You will need a assistant throughout the entire assembly process. The clamps that connect the front and rear sections together are worthless. I suggest getting some JB weld glue to reinforce the connection. Overall though the rack is very good; although it took me and a assistant about 4 hours to install.

if installed on xtended cab truck front bar over cab is very noisy at above 55 miles per hour and you
will need an air deflector, which Harbor Freight does not provide, and it should!!!!

it took me a little over 3 hours to build/install.
I over tightened the large bolts where the legs attached to the bed-feet. I didn't want the rack to parallelogram under heavy load. In over tighting I notice I distorted the feet so they curved a half inch or so. This did not seem to alter it's operation nor load capability.

I installed it as a temporary rack so I can take it off when not needed.

it's maiden trip was 768 lbs of steel, all 20 feet long, a dozen or so different rods/L's/tubes/flats/ in about a 9" bundle placed on the passenger side up against the rack's side rail.

glad I had put the 6" leg extensions on as the rack front 'loop' sagged a couple of inches under this heavy load. This sag was expected and acceptable due to the heavy concentrated load.

20 mile trip including highway speeds and bumps with no issues.

very stable rack and was pleasantly surprised that this bolted together rack is this sturdy.

as noted by others I pinned the front half to the rear half where the clamps are used. This is the small design flaw that seems to be in this design. The pins I used were 16 self tapping screws to keep the center clamps from opening or allowing the front and back halves from pulling apart. This is why I only give it 4 stars.

I am still very happy that I bought it and it has proven it can handle heavy loads.

I highly recommend this rack.

I took 3 hours four 3 men to install paint was already scratched off in some places in box the clamps system to put this together is horrible to say the least. It is weak in the center and sides bow with no load on it and side brackets as tight as they can go the only way to fix is to weld and if you do that it will never fit a different size truck but the one you have it on now.To take rear cross bar off it will take wrenches and 6 bolts not very easy poor design

Typical H.F./import paint/coatings - coating put on rusty tubing, spotty. Don't count on long term prtection. Count on spot painting - regularly!
Side bar clamps will slip & cause MAJOR problems - must be "pinned". Count on numerous "pinning" of most tubing/connectins - for safety & durability. (consider tacking solidly if not pinned".)
Count on adaptin/modifying to your truck/application. While not difficult, it must be considered necessary to some degree.
Biggest gripes - paint, side bar clamps, connections not positive & lasting.
For the price & my limited usage - it will work fine when completed.
