Works perfectly as described. Once you place it in the sewer line just turn on the water hose. The bladder expands, completely sealing off the sewer line then forces water through the sewer line. The water pressure built up inside the line will go somewhere! through the clog.

Once I got the bladder inside the sewer line through a clean-out, it took only a matter of seconds before the clog in the drain was cleared. I let the water flow for a few minutes to rinse out the line and then turned off the water and pulled the bladder out. The water trapped in the sewer lines under the house then went "whoosh" down the drain, flowing freely. What could be easier or better?

The outside sewer line at home clogged up for the second time in 2 months. Maybe I don't have enough fiber in my diet? I didn't want to call a plumber because I didn't want to pay someone for a job that I could do myself, and I don't like any kind of cracks. The first time, I rented a drain cleaning machine (a.k.a. snake) from a hardware store. It was heavy, and labor intensive and dirty to use. It took me more than an hour to dislodge the clog. The second time, I did some research online and found out about a drain cleaning bladder, and I bought one from HF. I lubricated it with some liquid dish detergent before using it. It took me less than 5 minutes to unclog the pipe. Unbelievable! I love this little gadget. It's so easy to use, a caveman could do it. Thank you, Harbor Freight.

The toilet in our lake cottage was draining very slowly. I ran a rented snake with curved blades down the line and hit a solid blockage 14 feet in. I started to dig up the line to look for a broken tile and recalled that I had "the bladder" in my trunk. I attached the bladder to a garden hose and ran it around 4 feet into the sewer line to get past the sewer vent pipe. I was absolutely amazed that this thing worked perfectly. Afterwards I dumped a bottle of sulfuric acid sewer line cleaner down the pipe just because I had some. I'm so happy that I tried the bladder before I got too far into the digging.

Best tips were to start with slow flow. I did not bust the bladder. It was very easy to use. I think that if you live on a hill as I do it is very advisable to leave the water running for quite awhile after the clog has cleared so you know the line is flushed clear to the main at the street.

I was ready to buy another $400 power cleaner but this worked just as well. Great product.

Our toilet was badly clogged and we were about to rent a snake or call a plumber. I decided to give this bladder a shot and it worked miracles. Make sure you make this a two person job with a clear line of communication between the two in case you have to turn the water down or off or you might end up with a very wet bathroom.

Works great for cleaning out main sewer lines. Just connect to a regular garden hose and you should be able to clean out most sewer lines.

It doesn't matter where you get these of what size they are. They burst. Turn the water on just a tiny bit. It will seat itself in about 30 seconds. Then let pressure push. You have to do this nice and slow. I can't stress that enough. A trickle. If it doesn't seat, a TINY bit more. Give it a chance to seat.
Either it will push the clog down or the bladder out. I blew two of these to pieces before I got it to flow. Both times, the cashier who did the exchange thought it was odd and sort of funny. She stopped laughing when I told her where the thing was. Wear gloves. Wash your hands!

This drain bladder did the job of unclogging the 4" sewer line, but the rubber bladder itself blew apart right after the clog cleared (maybe it was defective).

But for the price of this tool, it is definitely a lot cheaper than calling in a plumber.
