Great trap! I've used it to trap a variety of animals in our backyard. It's worked on possum, raccoon, and squirrel. I had an infestation of squirrels a while back. They were eating all of the peaches out of one of my trees. I secured this trap in the tree with some corn on the cob as bait...works like a charm. After 3 days and 8 squirrels later, I no longer have an infestation problem. The trigger is quite sensitive. A GREAT buy.

Cats? I don't know. Maybe up-size to the next level. But I had problem squirrels chewing their way into the house, and these things were perfect for relocating them. Reading reviews, I can attest that once you come up to he cage, trapped animals go nuts and bang the openings pretty hard. I don't know that I'd trust his to much bigger than a squirrel. But that being said, I caught 6 in one day and all but solved my problem. The metal bends a bit, I had latches and handles come loose, but its an easy fix with a set of pliers. For the price, I think these things are great, and I can't even estimate he amount of money they've saved me on damage repair due to the rodents...

I bought this trap thursday and have caught 4 cats in 5 nights. It does secure the cat good enough till animal control comes to pick them up. None of the cats had collars so i assume they are fray cats which i got tired of them using my yard as a litter box. Traps works great and im going to keep using this till my yard doesnt smell like cat poop.

Trap works well once you figure it out. My neighbor feeds the ferral cats and they are living in the attic. They keep on getting in despite my efforts to keep them out. My house reaks of cat urine. I went and bought two traps. I baited one(salmon) and put it in the attic and withen 10 mins bang got one. I was able to get it out and down without any issues. Cat did not get hurt nor escape. Transfered to a stronger cage awaiting more catches to take to animal control. The other is sitting out front waiting to trap anything that it can including dogs off leash. There is one big Tom Cat I fear might give the trap a run for the money time will tell. So far I give it a A+ but the directions are pretty sorry.

This trap worked at advertised, I caught 2 muskrats that were damaging my shore line in 1 day with it....simple to use and set up....now I have it in case anymore litte friends show up!

This trap was easy to assemble and I'm only 15. Each day I set this, I caught something. I used cherios, almonds, and a rotten apple as bait. Out of all the pests in the area, I have caught two squirrels, a possum, and a raccoon.Plan to catch more.

This trap is perfect! Easy to set, portable, and it works! I zip tied a tuna can to the bottom of the cage as a YT video suggested, that way there's nothing to hurt the cat inside the trap. I then take tuna, drain the liquid, and dump the meat into the ziptied can. I set it twice and I got two cats. Be sure to check with your local animal control, because as I found out, they may not have immediate accomidations for your trapped animals. Luckily mine did but if they didn't I'd have had to care for it and feed it until they did have room.

I have had one of these for about 10 years. During that time I have caught dozens of coons, possums and cats. Never had a coon tear it up but I have had several try, including rolling it over 10 feet from where it was set. If using dry dog food, a smart coon will simply roll it over and get the food from underneath. It can be staked to the ground to prevent this but why go through the hassle? I have found the 39 cent canned cat food works great for coons or cats or use marshmellows for coons only. This is a very sturdy trap, but no trap should be set if you can't release the animal in a few hours. I like the quick release door and would never zip tie it shut. The metal hand guard around the handle is a definite plus, but a coon can bend the tabs down and cut his foot on them. I put duct tape on mine to prevent this. As with most things, the trap requires a little common sense to use. No need to look elsewhere because this is the best deal.

We live in a semi-rural sub-division. When they built houses in a field behind our yard we inherited lots of ground squirrels and at least one possum. So far we have only used peanuts and squirrel food as bait. Another reviewer mentioned using cable ties to hold the back door tight - I absolutely agree. In a few hours we trapped our first squirrel but he must have been Houdini because he got away on the walk to the truck. After using cable ties on the back door we trapped the possum last night and he now has a new home a couple of miles away.

Purchased this model after my coop was attacked and broken into one night by night creatures and took out 12 of my flock of 19. My favorite Turken Rooster was helpless to the animals of the night. I found him half eaten in the woods, he was dragged out of the coop. I was determined to find the culprids and so I set this trap up and the next morning I caught grandpa coon. Set it up again and next morning a huge possum. The best catch so far was two coons in one shot, they were small and can't believe they both went into trap. The last catch was again a large coon. So in the 2 weeks I've had this trap it has done a fairly good job. Sure metal is a little soft but the coons couldn't make their way out so it's good enough for me. I almost considered getting the bigger one available but so far this one is doing a very good job and so I may go back for a second to have two traps always set up. Because of the very good results in the last 2 weeks I am giving this one 5 stars.
