First off you're not buying a top-of-the-line Gerber.
It helps if you're smart enough to realize the handle/blade contact point is loose right out of the package & there's an Allen screw there to snug it up. Granted it should have been done at the factory it never hurts to inspect any tool before using it.
For less than 9 singles you can't go wrong here.

its a good knife for a cheap price but the blade fell out when i was cutting a tree and i cut my myself overall its a good knife.

love this knife so much i bought 15 to give as christmas gifts everyone loved them. we always hunt and camp it comes in handy for many things and yes the blade could of been better attached but i dont have a problem with mine and we did add our own extra stuff in handle to make it easyer to get to ..

The title says it all. Bought it to put in my hiking/camp pack and use as a compact machete. Been on 2 camping trips and countless hikes with it, and chopped tons of lumber with it. It's still going strong after tons of abuse! I would recommend unscrewing the handle and putting some loc-tite on it so it doesn't loosen up on you. Other than that, no complaints here!

Like some of the reviews the blade is very high quality but the sheath and survival gear is pretty poor. I filled my part of my handle with epoxy to ensure the blade will stay with the handle under heavy abuse and added cotton balls for kindling, waterproof strike anywhere matches (it came with a strike strip and wooden matches), small ceramic rod to use as a sharpener, a short flint for firestarting, wire for snaring, and some aspirin in case it's needed. I think the blade is 420c which is surgical steel quality.





Highly recommended at times it goes on sale, when it does I'm stocking up on them to give as gifts.

This little knife is quite sharp. I use it quite often for just about everything, but I'm sure in a survival situation it would save my b***. Excellent first knife, and great for the price. I added a few survival extras in the handle :-)
