Moving Dolly, 1000 Lb. Hardwood

Used this dolly to move a Liberty Colonial Gun Safe into my house and to a temporary location. Removed the safe shipping pallet which was the same dimensions as the dolly. Bolted the dolly to the safe and rolled it to it's location. The safe was 680 pounds 2ft X 3ft X 5ft. Worked perfectly! Placed the dolly over a flore jack, tilted the safe and walked it up on the dolly. Then centered the dolly under the safe and let it down, then removed the jack. I love it when a plan comes together!

After reviewing the HF Genset wheel kit for my new 4k Predator genset, the kit only has a single arm that you must pick up the front end of the gen and then pull to destination. The center mounted arm appeared to short and you heels would hit the gen frame. Phoohey on that set up.

Bought this 30" x 19" movers dolly on sale at the Sept HF parking lot sale cheap and it was a perfect fit for the genset. Now, 1000 pound load is a big strech but, the genset only weighs 109 pounds dry and close to 134 loaded with fuel and oil.

I had a long t-handle water meter wrench key and modified it to pull the dolly and genset. The gen wheel kit makes you to have to pick up and pull. With the dolly swivel castors you can easily guide into most any position, and not have to paralell park it going back and forth.

Other than the loose castor bolts when purchased. I have had no probs with the wheels with this ligher load and I use silicone spray on the wheel axels and white lithium grease on the swivel bearings. The whole dolly rig cost about a third the price of the HF gen wheel kit.

Note: I tried one of the HF 200 Lb. Capacity plastic movers dollies on another similar weight generator and it warped badly. Time will tell if this hardwood dolly will do the same.

i build cabinets put 2 under one and move it out of the way I have use 12 even have taken casters off and attach them on moveable cabinets they won't hold a 1000 lbs but it easier then carrying 200 lbs for the price I don't think you can beat them remeber you are not paying top money don't expect top performace

Moves 500 pound loads with ease. At 750 pounds, you can tell it is straining. The wheels do not pivot freely. I couldn't imagine it lasting long with a 1000 pound load. If you keep the limitation in mind, you couldn't build anything this cheaply from scratch.

It is best to stick a board into the center section. The dolly is good and cheap. Good for sticking things in the garage and off the floor.

The rated capacity is 1000 lbs. This may be correct for a static load. When you move the dolly with even 300 lbs on it and try to get over the slightest bump in the carpet, the caster buckles.


It is a good value only if you revise the load to 300 lbs max on a perfectly smooth surface with no imperfections in the surface. All 4 of the dollies I bought broke !

Used as a rolling platform under a set of small sawhorses which support a makeshift workbench for a mitre saw. The casters neither roll or swivel.

This product is the hallmark of BAD

The dolly is rated for 1000lbs but dolly can't move with 250lbs. The wood and wheels are cheap. The carpet is thin. Save yourself the time of returning the dolly and don't buy it.

Use to move coolers of food, and small freezers, all of which weigh at most a couple hundred pounds.

Dolly's are rated for much more than that, and EVERY ONE I've purchased has lost the casters, and some have cracked the poor quality wood rails.

Casters get locked up, won't turn.
