cant use it in my garage
cant lift it to take it out
cant get parts for it
just a bad & costly experience
will buy a brand name next time
just proves cheap is expensive in long run

I went in to buy the smaller generator but HF was sold out. I left with the 5500 and now I am glad I did. I had to build on my farm too far away for an electric cord. I had several pieces of equipment hooked up at the same time, compressor, saws, lights. I ran the generator some thirty hours over four days. Did not have a problem, I was well pleased.

bought to replace a older unit. Was not sure the unit would work well but very surprised how well it worked. I used it several times after hurricane Irene and it works. I have it wired to my house by the way of quick disconnect cord. Everything works but the central a/c but great for heat in the winter.

I have had my generator for 2yrs.Wheel kits were available at that time for $30.00. instead of buying that I purchased a 4 wheel furniture dolly and placed it on top of that for less than 1/2 the price of the kit !!! works great as long as your on a hard surface. Powers my whole house except A/C, Hard wired into a box in my garage and back feed it to my home panel.Runs my well pump and everything that i need, even my Christmas lights! even though most everyone on my street has no power...they love me..lol Works perfect.

Used for days after super storm Sandy. When power came back on in my area, friends used it for another week straight. Great generator but should have a 2 year warranty and wheel kit standard like the competitors

Well I have taken this out a few times fishing. I run my lights and AC unit. So far I put about 20 hours on it. I have change the oil and place casters on it. Still works great! It could be a little quieter but it will do.

I have the older blue model for couple years now & in NJ if you dont have one your a fool. This gen works like a champ for us. It starts on two pulls, but I went out and got a battery so now it simple to start.

I bought this generator in 2010 for a sub freezing power outage in 2010. I have the blue model 98838(5,500W). I has about 60-70 hours on it and has provided power for 3 major power outages. Great value for the money. At the time I used a 20% off to help with the price at the time but they are no longer valid for generators. Small stuff needed to be fixed, i.e. fuel valve needed to be tightened, gas cap needed thicker gasket. Overall a great unit and it starts and runs great. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Just change the oil and remember to turn the loads off before you start/stop the unit. I was skeptical of this unit at first like all of you, but the generator has literally beat the storm. I also have this unit wired to my whole panel using the 4-wire connector. My wife says that she cannot tell that the power is off when we use it. I have no problem operating multiple applicances, heat, etc. Have not tried AC with it yet. A++. Thank you.
