I use these in my home workshop. I have used a couple of the dies and several of the taps so far with no bending or breaking. I tried one of the less expensive plain high carbon sets a couple times and generally either had a tap bend or a wrench break the first time I used those sets. So far no problems with this set.

I've only used about 3 of the taps in my set so far but wanted to say they are quite tough and have held up very well. I haven't gone easy on them either, sometimes tapping into slightly undersized holes but they haven't missed a beat.

Like any good tap/die, go easy, back out often and goop them with oil often and these should last a long time. I REALLY like that the fact each tap and die in this set has its size imbedded in it instead of simply just printed on the surface. The printed ones wear off in no time (even on name brand ones) leaving you guessing what size is which.

When on deal you can get these for a jackson and a lincoln.

This kit works very well. Well laid out, strong, almost all the sizes needed for auto repair. Able to do better tread repair then I used to. I have had this kit over a year, use it to clean threads, make thread, and repair. Never had a problem.

This is a pretty complete set for most anyone's home shop. I'm an avid DIY'r that likes to build things including woodshop jigs, and general home and auto projects.

Tools and cars can always use a little something extra and I've come to appreciate being able to tap a drilled hole so as not to need a nut. This set gives me a variety of thread sizes in both Imperial and Metric.

So far I've threaded wood, plastic, brass and even plate steel without any problems whatsoever.

Probably one of the best uses is simply cleaning up the threads on hardware and other products where "assembly is required". I can't begin to tell you how much frustration this set has eliminated. Having such capability sure beats having to take some product back to the store because the fasterners haven't been threaded properly!

The price is great, dies and taps are clearly marked and everything is well organized for selecton and storage.

Very effective and surprisingly sharp set! Comes in a no-frills yet durable blown plastic case, in which only the smaller of taps wiggle lose. By no means a professional set, but as a locksmith I occasionally need to tap holes when working on big projects, and this puppy has done it all from #6 in aluminum door frames to 1/4" in a hardened steel bumper support on a personal vehicle..

In all, go slow, keep the threads clean, and use oil on steel cutting, and you will not break anything.. I havent broke a tap yet.. *knock on wood* :-)

the only part of the kit i had to change was the 1/4 inch tee handle all the taps would just spin inside it, but other than that is great.

I purchased this set in a pinch, as I did not have my regular set on my van at the time. I've owned several tap and die sets over the years, including a $400.00+ Rigid set. This set has performed better than any previous tap and die set I've owned. I have yet to break a tap after several years of regular use... Incredible! My only complaints are that the die handles come loose, and the guides are useless, and that the case is flimsy, so that things sometimes come out of their slots, which leaves you looking for the right tap. That said, for the money, this set cannot be beat. I will definitely purchase it again (assuming this thing ever wears out).

very worth it. had some questions about off-brand, but these things have gotten me out of so many pinches - stripped headbolt on boat block, severely rusted ebrake cable on truck, snapped throttle cable (rethreaded it)...I dont think there's a better [$]to spend out there

I bought this kit primarily for use around the house and in my garage. This kit has been a excellent value and has met my expectations so far. The case is set up well and everything is clearly labeled. I have a very expensive snap-0n tap and die set at work I compared to this kit. My other set is undeniably superior in build quality, but literally cost 10x the price of this kit. This is a perfect home owners kit, but I would look into something higher end if you plan on using these in a professional environment

Complete with a real sturdy case. Standard and metric dies and taps, with t-handle. I use cutting fluid with mine. For the price it will be hard to beat.
