Concerned after reading some reviews, but the most important key from all reviewers: Break-in for 30 minutes per instructions with no air load [This is per the manual, but NOT included on the guick-start card where it should also be].

After the break-in, this thing pressured itself to 98 psi on the guage and then shut off. I use it for my 5th wheel trailer...it took about 12 minutes to top-off 4 tires from 70 psi to 80 psi. Tank has held pressure now with little decrease over three days.

Seems rugged enough for a small portable, and I am pleased with the quality and construction. Overall, I give it five stars for the $39 that I paid for it, but that is also considering that it is a portable for occasional light job, low volume, low to moderate psi use.

Small and lightweight so perfect for blowing out pipes upnorth in the winter. Good for filling up tires and sports balls. Anything else is ran off my main 60 gallon compressor. Don't expect too much, its only 3 gallons. If you want more out of it then what I listed I would up to aleast a 6 gallon pancake or hotdog with wheels depending on your needs for other light duty jobs.

People say its noisy but its not anymore so than any other oiless I have heard, not an issue.

Did 30 minute break-in period as directed and it has been a perfect product for intended uses.

The aluminum line from the pump to the tank leaked at the bend. I tried to seal it but then the line broke in half at the bend. Very poor craftsmanship during assembly.

I bought this compressor on sale for my wife's garage so that she doesn't have to haul the bikes and such across the yard and over to my garage. Her garage only has 15 amp service, so anything much bigger than this would blow the fuse.

She likes it a lot because it's cute and works well for bicycle tires.

She doesn't like it for filling the tires on her Escalade, especially when it's cold out.

In fact, it's thanks to this compressor, a slowly leaking left rear tire and her trying to fill her tires that I got the O.K. to get a much larger 60 gallon compressor for my garage.

She was amazed at how fast her tires filled with my 21 gallon, 6 CFM compressor, after giving up on trying to use the pancake in the cold. I mentioned that if I were to get a larger compressor for blasting, that she could have my 21 gallon. She was sold, can you believe it? :)

I'm going this week to pick up my 60 gallon compressor! If that's not a selling feature for this compressor, I don't know what is!

Now I'll have to rewire her garage to support my old compressor, but it will all be worth it in the end!

The pancake still works well for what it is, so I'll probably keep it in the basement for blowing dust out of PC's, switches, routers and such.

This pancake compressor turned out to be a surprisingly sound investment!

Good little rig for running a brad nailer. Can also air up tires, etc. if need be.

I followed the instructions, opened the valves and let the motor run for 30 minutes. I turned off the motor, closed the the valves, pushed the reset button and started the motor. When the motor starts, I go into the house(it's loud), wait for the motor to stop(about 10 minutes) and then return. Upon returning, I read the meter, it read 100psi. I put a mixture of liquid soap and water around the quick connect fitting attached to the compressor, I perceived small bubbles in one spot. I turned off the compressor, released air pressure and removed the quick connect. I put two turns(clockwise) on the threads, using vinyl tape. I also did the same procedure with quick connect fittings (female/male) on the 25ft premium rubber air hose and all the accessories that I bought with the compressor. There are absolutely no leaks after two years of use. I use this for bicycle tires, motorcycle tires, cleaning air filters, chains, cleaning moisture around the oil filler cap, after cleaning motorcycle engine, before changing oil. I keep my 17 inch offroad tires on my Toyota topped off. I blow dust away from the electric components, under the seat of my KTM motorcycle. I inflate air mattresses, neighbors' golf cart tires, bikes, sports equipment and ETC. After each use, I release air pressure and open the valve at the bottom of the tank...per instructions. After two years of weekly use, the compressor works perfectly. I got it on sale for $15 off. I spent nearly $90(including tip) on dinner for two, last weekend. The dinner only lasted an hour. Due the math.

I don't understand why so many people gave 1 star and talking bad about this little compressor when it do the job for the price. If you read the manual it specifies BREAK IN THE MOTOR FIRST? Open the valve regulator put an open male coupler in the female coupler and let run for 30 minutes. Three months later still running good I air up the tires on my Chevy truck use my brad nailer and more lite work.

I read the reviews and decided that for the price I was going to give it a try. I am very pleased with my compressor. I let it run for the 30 minute unloaded break in cycle and it has performed great. I got it on sale for about the same price as a 12 volt unit. I don't try to run air tools because the tank is so small but to top off the tires it is great. I can inflate everything from lawnmowers to dirt bikes. I put it to a test of my own and inflated a spare tire from 10 psi to 35 psi and it only kicked on at the end of the fill. I am pleased with it if you let it run and build up before you start it is fine.

Used to inflate tires. Did the 30 minute break in and runs like a charm. As far as mine goes it is not loud at all and builds pressure properly. When buying anything from Harbor Freight that you know has a good chance of breaking especially by some of these reviews get the warranty. $9.99 is worth the 2 yrs to replace it.
