Bought this at the same time when I bought the 90 amp HF flux core welder. It worked just fine and has good features. I'm glad I bought it and I'm sure I will get plenty of use out of it AND the welder. Thanks HF once again for making tools affordable for the do-it-your-selfer!!

This helmet (for the money) is Great. OK, it's not high-end (which I own also) but if you need a nice helmet for a low price you have found it here...

the helmet works great for every type of welding and i wanna add i saw a review on here saying you cant tig bc its blinds you thats wrong you just have to turn it to high sensitivity............its a great helmet

I was a little skeptical for the price, but was happy once I tried it out, I have seen similar ones for twice the price. find it on sale and you won't go wronge.

I have several helmets. This is my go-too, every day helmet.
It's light weight and fast. The advantage of this over the blue flame model
is the grind mode. The switch is instantly accessible and very convenient.
If you weld every day, buy the warranty. The head band is a weak spot and will eventually give up. It won't pull your hair if you are wearing a welders cap. You should be wearing one with the visor over your left ear. I always keep a spare helmet close by and for the price of these, that's easy. If you are working it hard you will need some spare lens plates. HF has those in stock.
You can pay a lot more for a welding helmet. I would if I thought it would be better.

Fit and finish are superb. The tightening mechanism is likely to pull out a few hairs if you tighten with it on your head. The front has a removable pad but the back is hard plastic. Its quite comfortable but i wouldnt want to wear it all day. this can be easily fixed with a little makeshift padding.

This helmet works awsome it is quick and the grind feature is top notch in makes fabricating a whole lot more convienant. i would recommand this to any welder at home or professional i love the helmet. the only problem i have had is it has pulled my hair but not bad

I've had the blue one for about 6 or 7 years now. Still works fine. I've been flashed a few times but I think that's due to me blocking the sensors. I just picked up this red one today. It's the same plastic hood but this looks 1000 times better. Really it does. The blue one has ugly stickers. this one looks painted. Great finish and the same price at the blue one. I'm happy with my purchase.

there is so many comments that could be made about this helmet but to make a long story short yes it is worth the $$$ ! been using mine every week end for the last year and a couple other small projects.

I weld with Mig & Stick on my farm equipment and other projects and needed a new welding helmet,and always wanted an auto darkening. Didn't have much cash to put forward so I took a chance on this one. I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised after using this one, talk about a good deal and a great helmet, this works great and fits nice. The auto darkening feature as my kid would say "is the bomb". For the price you you can't go wrong, I very happy, I guess someone that uses one everyday would want a more heavy duty structure but for me this one does the trick.
