This was the first of my Harbor Freight lights, and I modified it to mount upon my helmet. I am an avid bicyclist, and particularly enjoy pedaling before Sunrise/after Sunset. Why? Because I have multiple battery-powered lights, both flashing and steady beam, mounted on my Doublevision tandem recumbent and helmet, most of them from Harbor Freight. Visibility is the single greatest factor in road safety for ALL vehicles upon our excellent highways and byways; Harbor Freight lights give me a feeling of safety that is even unmatched by designated bike lanes or a segregated bikeway! I highly recommend Harbor Freight lights to everybody who want a surefire system of lighting!

I am a New York City paramedic, my mother gave me one of these lights a while back and I threw it in my jump bag at work and forgot it was there. Recently after hurricaine sandy hit the city and power in many of our high rise housing projects was out I remembered that I had it. It was a life saver LITERALLY!!! treating sick injured people and carrying them down in absolute darkness is impossible but wearing this light I was able to do all of this while keeping both hand free. My coworkers envied me for my hands free light. I will be purchasing more of these lights for work and personal home use and for the price I can buy as many as I like. Thank you harbor freight.

By far the best bargain in a headlamp that I have seen, especially at HF's sale price (and I have tried a lot of headlamps)! Not the brightest, but not the dimmest either. I like that it takes standard AA batteries, and even comes with them. Okay, the standard batteries aren't great, but at the price HF sells this item for, they are practically disposable. Yes, they are made of cheap plastic (although they so far are holding up well), and the bulb isn't an LED bulb, but this is still a bargain.

My only worry is that the screws that hold the light at your chosen angle might loosen up over time, and then the lamp might flop around a bit. But that has yet to happen. Still, and excellent purchase. I have purchased more than half a dozen of these. Put one in each car, one in the kitchen drawer, one in my portable tool box, one in my camping backpack, etc. You never know when you might need one, and the price is cheap enough to buy several.

I bought several of these lights over the years and keep at least one in each vehical. they work well once you put better batteries in them. even with alot of abuse I have only burned out a couple bulbs, for the price I cant beat them

Bought these for hunting great little lights. The batteries that came with them not so good, but put in energizers works great. Great hands free all around light. Did get get them on sale great price. I will buy more as they go on sale.

PROS:





-Throws a pretty focused beam


-Comfortable and secure on your head


-Compact


-Takes AA batteries (2.5 times more cost efficient than AAA batteries)


-Hands-free lighting is a big plus


-Very affordable. Good for occasional use. You can buy extras for emergencies or as gifts for kids when camping.





CONS:





It's not LED. The future is LED. (But most affordable LED headlamps don't focus as well as this one, and most take AAA batteries which is a deal-breaker).

When I first got this thing, I used it to close my chickens in at night;(note: I am NOT a farmer!) the batteries didn't last very long until they started to give out.
The bulb came in crooked, & pretty soon I had to replace them.
The overall summary is CHEAP,but that is expected at the price, I guess.
When it's on sale, I usually buy a lot & either stash them somewhere in the house(which will probably remain there until I seriously need it & remember)or give them as gifts to my friends.
since harbor freight sells them at such a low price, I recommend getting a lot of them, just in case you need them in emergencies.
The adjustable headband function is really great. I got it to fit everyone from my four-year old little brother to my fourty-three year old dad.
This is a neat little light that beats all others at price, if not quality, so if you're going camping once & that's it, throw one in your backpack.

Love it use it all the time. When the bulb burns out replace it with LM2A001 bulbs they are brighter and last longer. If you need to focus beam use a straw and cut about 0.25 inch under the reflector then tighten the lens until you have the desired beam you want. I have had mine for a year and love it.

This light is awesome...I gave one to my 86yr. old mother in law and she loves it to read with. Probably one of the best products I have ever purchased from Harbor Freight..plus long battery life..and very inexpensive, and acts as a third hand....A+++++++++++
