Undecided yet but I agree with the concern about broken items being put back on the shelf. We bought the last one on the shelf and though it looked unopened, the remote control unit was missing. It will be going back for a refund and the hope we can find it at another HF. Right now, there is a very disappointed 7-year old. Based on a review or two, I will bring batteries and try out the product at the store, especially checking for all the parts.

Did not work well at all. Fresh batteries. Would not move on carpet. LEDs not all working. Scratches indicate used product. If HF personnel are reading this, please pull from shelves.

this toy is horrible! the first one i bought as a gift would not work at all. took it back and got another...this one had the front bumper broken off that holds the front wheels in place. took it back! every car on the shelf was either broken or would not work. i asked the 2 employees i was dealing with to PLEASE not put these back on the shelf. went to another harbor freight and found one broken one and one that looked intact. couldn't try it out since i had left the batteries at home. when i opened the package, the front bumper fell off (broken plastic)! took it back again and the previous broken toy was back on the shelf! incredible! i got my money back and asked the asst. manager to NOT RETURN THESE TO THE SHELF! just amazed at the poor business practice!!!

This was a gift to my son from an uncle, he was VERY excited to play with it. I took it out of the box and the first problem was getting the battery "tray" out, I had to get pliers to be able to pull it out. I put the batteries in and it wouldn't turn on. After playing with it I realized one of the internal connections that the battery tray makes contact with was out of alignment so I pulled the car apart. In taking it apart I found THREE of the molded plastic pieces that everything screws into are broken off, including the two that hold the connectors to the power supply!

Some crazy glue, electrical tape and aggravation later and I got it to turn on. Then I put the battery in the control and it would switch on and then go off. I had to take it apart because the switch was positioned where all the way up in the on poaition it hits the case and won't stay on.

all in all after 45 minutes of tinkering I was able to get it to work well enough for my 4 year old to play with in the driveway, since it doesn't have enough power to run on grass, but that was with constintly having to tap on the car to get the power to turn on.

in short, this is garbage.
