This tool is FANTASTIC for cutting molding already in place or cutting holes in drywall for electrical outlets.
Easy to make straight lateral cuts to an exact point without going past it like you must do with a circular blade saw.
This is one of those tools you will find handy for jobs you never even thought of using it for when you bought it. Works on many types of material.
Only complaint is that the blades and sanding disks are pretty expensive for how long they last.

        • Drywall cutouts

I got this on sale for [$] and it was so worth it. I installed an in-wall surround sound system. This made cutting precision holes a cinch. No chipped paint or drywall, no stray cuts.I also cut through a stud that was in the way. It would have been nearly impossible to cut out with a saw without destroying the drywall on the other side. It was a bit of a chore getting this guy to push through a 2x4, but it was infinitely easier than my alternatives. Took about a minute to cut through the stud.

        blade cut copper

        By spockmckoy

        from SW PA

I use various tools everyday being a contractor. recently, I was in a bind and needed to cut a 1/2" copper water line that was flush up against a wall in a very confined space. I used the only tool I had that I thought could do the job. I only had wood cutting blades for my HF oscillating tool. It cut the pipe and the blade doesn't look too bad for the wear.

        Fantastic Tool

        By Wheeler

        from Waxahachie, TX

Used this to cut oak tung & groove flooring under my counters in the kitchen. Very tight spot because of the kitchen counter over hang. Worked great. Only problem as it vibrates so fast had to retighten cutting tool several times. Other than that works perfect. Really put tool to the test. Tried battery version 1st it wouldn't hold a charge long enough

I got this product for Christmas and it worked on one job and then broke. The prongs that hold the blade / tools in place break easy. Locking bolt breaks real quick. It wont stay in. I tried to tighten it to keep it in all it did was snap the nut inside.

          Best Uses

Broke after 5 uses. The spring pushing the brushes in snapped or wore away. not sure. Without brush contact the motor does not operate. I Liked the tools and am thinking to buy a quality product from [@] instead. 90 day warranty is an indication of the quality!!!

            Switch failied 3 times!!

            By PO-d user

            from Mesa AZ

This unit: 68303 is also advertised and sold as 68861 (even though an onsite search for the latter number fails to bring up any information). Using the newspaper ad's discount-pricing slip (on which these two numbers appear) for a total purchase price of [$] I received item #68861...used it and returned the failed first unit, used and returned a replacement unit...used and will return the third unit. This time for a refund. All three units failed to turn on following varying periods of use: 10 minutes to 45 minutes. There must be a design problem with the switch. Whle I only took apart the second unit and verified power delivery had failed across the switch ( using a continuity tester), it is reasonable to assume the same cause for the other two. This would be a great tool if the switch didn't fail so predictably.

I bought this to remove a layer of plywood from my boat deck in Costa Rica. Worked great and made the job very simple. Since then I have used it for making dados and multiple small wood cuts in places I could not have otherwise gone. This is one of those tools you wonder how you ever lived without.
Buy extra blades. They will wear out and you will use this more than you think. Very satisfied with the quality of the tool also.

                This tool is incredible

                By Capnkurc

                from Rogers, Arkansas

I am a contractor and use this tool on a daily basis. It is rugged, cuts anything I put in front of it.. The cutting attachments from HF are a third of the cost of some of the major brands. This is a tool everyone should have in there workshop.!!!
