Made cutting a 6 foot long cut in 3/8 plate easy. My other torch failed at a brazed fitting which resulted in me taking 5-6 hours of using cutoff wheels on a 4 inch grinder to make the same cut that only took minutes with this torch

I went to Harbor Freight to replace my leaking 40 year old oxygen regulator and ended up replacing my entire torch.
This is a lighter weight than my 40 year old torch set, and the handle does get warmer than my old unit in extended use. It lights easy, adjusts easy, and while it does get warmer it stays cool enough in 30 min of continuous use that I could use it bare handed. The regulators hold constant pressure and once the torch was up to temp, I didn't have to adjust at all after first setting. I brazed 1/8 inch flat stock to make some custom kiln furniture for a glass kiln. I used the cutting handle on some ¼ inch angle iron just to try it out. It also adjusted well and cut like a hot knife in butter.
The lines are a good quality; I will have to wait until winter to see how stiff they get in the cold. The striker is as good as any I have used. I did not use the goggles since I wear glasses and have good goggles that fit, but I did put them on to try them and they felt comfortable and vision was clear.

I've had this set for about 6 months now and I'm very please with it. I replace a Blue Point set with this. I'm a certified welder and I put my torches through their paces. And I've had no problems with this set at all. I bought the 2yr. warrenty. So if anything goes wrong just take it back. That's a hell of alot cheaper then victor or harris and hobart.

I've had this for about 4 years now.





CONS: The hoses it has come with work well, but they are starting to deteriorate (4 years old though), especially around where they attach to the cylinders. No doubt this is because I wrap the hose around the cylinders when not in use and that part of the hose has the sharpest bend. No clue how this compares to industrial hoses, but I'm definitely looking into replacing the ones I have now. It's not like air compressor hoses which can cause an explosion if they start leaking.





This torch is great, I'm a home hobbyist and this kit has everything you need! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get one.





HIGHLY RECOMMEND: I highly recommend you also purchase in addition to this kit some anti-blowback valves! Any welding shop should have them and they don't cost much for the insurance of reducing the chance of having one or both of the cylinders ignite and explode in some freak blow-back accident.

I bought a set just like this from hf over 10 years ago. Thourgh my own neglence is the only reason Im purchasing a second set a decade or more later.

serioulsy way cheaper and just as effective as the lower end profesional stuff on the market

great torch, if you cut any thing big you need to get a bigger tip i also replaced the hoses with a 50 ft set to better suit my needs

I have a Lincoln outfit. (Harris branded) and it works just as good. I also have a really high dollar Victor and the HF is just about equal.
