2 Piece D High Capacity NiMH Rechargeable Batteries

So first...these are 2500mAh. You can get AA's now that exceed this rating, and I've seen D's that are over 9,000mAh. So hopefully some like that are coming.

*But*. I converted one of the solar spotlights HF sells into a nightlight. Due to the weather in our area, I wanted as much "backup" as possible, for those really cloudy days. At the time, the AA's were not nearly the same mAh as the D's, so these were the ticket.

I combined two of the solar spotlight solar panels into one charger with two D batteries, that stays outside. I did this *THREE* years ago. These batteries have been run so dead the LED's no longer functioned more times than I can count. The light stopped working the other day, so I pulled the batteries out, expecting them to be dead. I put them on the HF battery charger, and the indication was that the charge was completed.

Using my HF voltmeter (sensing a trend? lol) I measured the battery voltage after charging at 1.32V. That was two days ago. I just measured them again, still 1.32V! I am astounded.

While the slow charging has something to do with it I'm sure (vs the rapid charge of a 110V charger) three years of life out of batteries that have been very abused, is excellent. I am extremely happy with these, and only hope that the AA's HF sells that are near the same mAh, pan out to be as long lasting. These are as close to a fail-proof work of art as batteries can be!
