Power Plunger

Judging by some of the comments I've seen, some people appear to have struggled with how to use this item. First, it'll only work to clear drains that are restricted before the vent (before the pipe that goes UP inside of the wall to allow air into the drain system). It's excellent for quickly cleaning buildup out of traps. I've used mine on four different fixtures, over a dozen times over 6 years.

To use it, fill the fixture with water, and before it runs out of the fixture, put the sucker into the water, fill the barrel with water by drawing the handle up, and forcefully blow the water down the drain. All while the nozzle is still under water. This will eliminate water or anything else, shooting everywhere. The idea is to force a large amount of water into the drain quickly - faster than gravity can.

Also of note: If you're using this in a bathtub, recognize that the tub's overflow will act as a vent BEFORE the trap. Simply remove the plate covering the overflow and plug it with a rag (with plenty of rag sticking out so that it doesn't somehow go down the drain). Shoot water down the tub drain with this vent plugged, and you'll be able to get whatever's built up in the trap cleared, all of the way to the vent (and after that, if the vent is plugged above).

Good luck. Remember: if something it's not working, there could be a chance that you're doing it wrong. This can't fix everything, ideally - some sort of snake device would be used. But this is fast, and can be used every few months to fix restrictions before they become serious. You will also not risk getting a snake device stuck in your drain.

I don't know how you could have a problem. Work it back and forth slowly at first, then pick up the speed and force. This is the first recommendation I've written and it's deserved.

at first i was skeptical.but after using it i found you can easily move water back and forth, thus allowing the power of the suction and positive pressure enough to clear a local stoppage. works great and have purchased a few to give away to others after they saw it in action. will not replace a snake for stubborn stoppages but will help clean and wash out the trap amd tailpiece witch is the majority of sink and shower stoppages.

I couldn't get suction in a tub or sink and i tried both ends large and small, it did nothing but tire my arm!

Should you ever be foolish enough to consider this item -- DON'T!!!! This item is not worth it, garbage, and makes the mess WORSE!!!!!! A simple clog turned into a mess that soaked the carpet, spewed waste all over the room, and generally made me realize that items made in a country that would like to destroy ours (quality) is exactly that --[*]! If you want [*]all over your bathroom buy this item. If you don't well, make another choice.
