Product Overview

Description

This heavy duty orbital jigsaw projects a red laser line to ensure precise cuts. The jigsaw can cut through 3-11/32" wood, and 1/4" metal. The six-position dual speed control with variable speed of 500-3000 strokes per minute allows you to handle a variety of cutting applications. The jigsaw also features a three stage orbital action with 11/16" stroke for smoother cutting and less kickback.

Couldn't cut a straight line if it were alive and it's life depended on it with the flimsy blades it came with. I went to H D, brought some high quality Bosch blades and now my son is cutting like a pro. He loves the laser feature and had been cutting circles, lines, right angles and having fun with it. So yes, it is well worth it if you spend [$] on a set of some good blades.

Seems to have decent power, but the blade doesn't sit straight in any axis and wobbles horribly. The blade "lock" is one of the culprits, but poor alignment of the shaft and an almost-useless blade guide are also to blame. Out of some two dozen jigsaws I have used in my life, this is the most wildly wandering one I've ever had the misfortune to try. It doesn't even make a vertical cut!

It does seem to have decent power, though, and be built study -- both more than I expected at the price. If there was just some way to trash the blade lock and guide and replace them with something that worked!

I brought this to cut through hardboard to make the base for my door panels, i was accurately able to follow my template lines, curves and all and encountered no problems. was able to cut a perfect straight line. i have not used the laser yet. I am extremely happy wit my purchase

The blades that come with it aren't the best out there. I recommend getting some decent ones along with ordering the saw.

The saw itself is AWESOME! The instructions on putting in the blades... Not so much. Not one diagram or picture as to the placement of the blade.

I read the reviews before I bought the jigsaw, so I purchased a gang of extra blades along with it. The saw performs fine - no trouble with straight lines etc as some users have stated. I wonder if they are rushing it? I've used it to cut baseboards and particle board so far. This fit my needs perfectly & I'm happy with the purchase. BTW, I love Harbor Freight - my new toy store!

I found this unit to be tough and sufficient for cutting wood up to 1.5" wide, 3/16" wide aluminum and thin soft metal. It goes without saying that workpieces must be securely clamped to get straight cuts though, and instructions included are incorrect; the saw will be catastrophically damaged if someone attempts to force the blade guard up into the laser frame according to factory instructions. There were two ruined saws on my HF store's shelf, apparently because buyers had tried to follow factory directions.

Since the laser is battery operated, it has a separate switch. It is easy to forget to turn off and run the batteries down.
