cuts exhaust tubing like butter. battery doesnt hold a charge for long but i bought several up front. dropped it off the 3rd story balcony the other day still working great. reccomend to anyone who cant afford a brand name

This saw was delevered to my house today no where on wedsight did it tell me battery and charger must be purchased seperate. when i called harbour freight i was informed the battery and charger has been discontuned. a new saw when you cannot buy a charger or battery is totaly useless. KINDA LIKE HARBOUR FREIGHT

This saw was included in the 4 peice combo set that I originally bought, recently I had the need to trim some 2"x10" rafter tails and had no access to a chain saw or electricity to run my regular saw. I turned to this saw with hopes of getting through 1 or 2 cuts per charge. I was quite suprised at the power and managed to trim all six of my rafter tails on one charge! The is quite powerful, and the quick change chuck is a great feature...I always lose those allen wrenches! Overall a great tool for the money!

These other ratings would be laughable we're it not for the pictures included with the product in the catalogue. I would have thought that EVERYONE would know and understand that anything in light grey rather than full color ALWAYS means that the item/part is not included with whatever item is shown. This has bee Harborfrieghts way of doing business since, well, I don't know when... like the beginning.

Very happy with this saw. Wound up using it more than my expensive corded one because of the convenience. Pruning, x-mas tree cutting, bolts, plywood, I use it all the time. The quick release blade holder is a big plus. Just have to remember not to overcharge the battery, I put it on a timer and set it to go off after an hour or two.

Much improved blade holder! And you got rid of needing an allen wrench which is so easy to misplace. But wait, now a different allen wrench is supplied to make some kind of adjustment to the footplate.

Safety switch engages as soon as the trigger is released. Need one hand to turn the switch off and the other hand to turn the trigger on - at the same time! Royal pain. And that is not how one should be holding the tool when starting it.

Still have the web page mucked up. I too had overlooked the fine print about the separately sold battery (item 68859) and charger (item 68860). Should have used a bigger font and listed the numbers for those two items(maybe even linking the item number so that a click on the number got you to the exact page where they are sold). Now I see that even the line of fine print has been removed from the page.

The reason for this purchase is that the earlier model I had ate its transmission. While the new battery style is nice, I now have two batteries and a charger that are useless for this model. An adaptor for the older style batteries would be VERY nice.

This would be a good saw if it wasn't for the battery life. i had bought it to cut through cardboard and bolts, and i did not want to spend over $100 on a name brand, and the chicago electric hammer drill and impact driver have been good to me, but this reciprocating saw did not make it through 1 reel that i needed to cut apart (out of six) they are made out of cardboard and four bolts, the battery died after the second bolt. i will be taking this back and spending the extra $15 on the 7 amp corded saw
