I used this with the 2 Horsepower Fixed Base Router Drill Master - item#68341. The speed control is amazing with this router allows complete speed control from barely turning to full blast. I found/felt the router was too fast/powerful for my needs at the single full speed.
The speed control has infinite speed settings; it is a smooth control knob that adds more power as you turn the knob. It is not a 3 click setting as the colors on the face could imply. I have used this for a few weeks now and am very happy. One thing would make it better is to have a way to mount it with screws/bolts somewhere. It comes with a clip on the back exactly like a tape measure to secure it somewhere. It just so happens my table saw bench has a flat steel surface to attach it to otherwise it could be quite cumbersome.

I am actually a pet groomer and I use this to control the suction on my shop vac that I use with a clipper attachment to suck up hair while clipping down the pet. The shop vac by itself is too strong so by dialing it down a bit, it is much safer and easier to get a good finish on my longer haircuts. I especially like using this on the cats. Saved me a TON of money because the clipper vac and taxi vac systems all retail between $500 to $800 and this cost me less than $200 with the attachemnts, hoses and special clipper that was needed!

This speed control does the job. It also works on routers with variable speeds as well!I recently upgraded my saw by putting a router table at the end. I didn't like reaching or bending under the table to change the router speed for differnt types of situations. This thing ,for the money, works great, and just as good as some of those that are $60 to $80. Good job HF.

Purchased for use with electric die grinder. Works good for reducing speed to use wire wheels for rust stripping. Haven't put many hours on it but for the price, it should get me through a few tasks and pay for itself. Doesn't work on low for grinder but varies speed on medium and higher.

Just Going try to save some people some time and effort if they are thinking of using this device to lower the RPM on thier Dremel Rotory Tool.
Forget it! It does not work.

I've always had a great amount of luck with HF but not on this one. It doesn't work until you turn it up all the way and then causes the router to jump.
