I used this to put the finishing touch on a gun cart for CAS. The router performed much better than I figured it would, esily powered into solid 3/4 inch maple. I would recomment this for the home hobby guy or gal, and general contractor for small trim projects.

I've been using an older moldel for over 10 yrs. After the smell of the brushes breaking in went away, it is still going strong. The clamp for the base broke after 2 turns. I glued on a hose clamp w/ plumbers goop and tighten it w/ a screwdriver. Base never moves! I always expect this one to die anytime and hope HF continues to sell them. I use this when I need a router w/ a small base for light work.

I use this router for small box constructions. I built a small 6" X 6" router table that clamps on to the edge of my 3/4" thick "workbench". The router's power chord is attached to a Harbor Freight Router Speed Control (item number 43060)and is set to upper low or lower medium. I use carbide tipped router bits and it works like a charm. No wood burnings or high pitch sounds from the motor. As configured I am able to cut perfect dado's, rabbits, roundovers, 45 deg. bevels and miters. Better than a roto tool for small router table woodworking. My plan is to build a wood/acrylic base to replace it's plastic factory version.

I haven't even bought the thing (yet) and I'm tired of hearing about the depth guide slipping--that is: the rounter body slips inside the clamp ring that's part of the base.

Lookee guys & gals, glue 3 or 4 strips of 100-grit sandpaper inside the ring. This will provide some grip. True, it will also abrade the router body, but that gives more grip, so it's win-win.

Also a good thing to do anyplace you need a nonslip surface.

I have used this router in place of my 2 full sized routers and it just keeps on going. I have used it for between 30-50 hours with no hiccups at all. LOVE IT.

I've never been able to justify the price of a trim router. At this price you can't go wrong. The 'fence' system is plastic so this will not stand abuse but if you abuse your tools you take your chance anyways. I've had this about a year now and never had an issue or something couldn't be done with it. Great value.

I build furniture and routers are a essential tool, but sometimes using a 2 1/2 hp router doesn't make sense. Neither does paying up to $150 for a trim router. I have 3 of these and my goal is atleast 3 more. Instead of changing bits, futzing around with setups, I dedicate one to a oft-repeated task such as roundovers, flush triming, etc., and use the big ones for something that requires more muscle. I have not had a problem with one yet, they have plenty of power, run very smoothly, and are easy to use one-handed. I like them, will buy more, and recomend them to anyone. They are a GREAT buy.

I only used it twice. Working on a buddy's door, had to route the hinges. It worked great, and was surprizingly powerfull. Can't beat the price, too... May not be the best for professionals. But for the once in a while user, it's great!!
