This is just a basic AGD 2 Dial indicator that works. It is solidly made and does not feel like a [$] tool. Best of all, this thing gives repeatable and accurate readings, and it always returns to zero. I use this tool almost everyday as a machinist. I use it to true and check fixtures and vises. When mounted in a CAT40 tool holder, I can get very accurate and repeatable height measurements that seldom disagree with .0001" resolution scales in the CNC machines. It's not a Starret or Mitutoyo and maybe lacks the polish of those brands but it also lacks the huge price tag without lacking function.

What more could you ask for? It works wonderfully, Currently being used in the resto of my old Corvette. Not one complaint!

I've been using these indicators for years. Bought six to try out, went back two years later and bought six more. They get used in a very harsh environment. I like them.

I use this to set up my woodworking machines, and to set bit heights on the router table and table saw.
It works well and gives repeatable results.
Good deal for the money.

This is a recently purchased item and it will be used for aligning various woodworking tools like table saws and drill presses as well as to true parallel items like miters. The "zero" mark is not as pictured... you have to move the bezel/dial to the zero position of the needle and start from there. All in all, it's not a bad little device.

I use this when I'm truing bicycle wheels and I can get them within a few thousandths of absolute true, which is far greater accuracy than is really needed. But it makes it so easy it's fun to see how close to perfect you can get.





However, to take advantage of the accuracy you have to be able to clamp it securely. As other reviewers pointed out, it doesn't come with the stand pictured, and the attachment point on the back isn't easy to clamp onto. I cobble something together with c-clamps that works well enough but isn't graceful. So four stars instead of five.

I would give this a five star rating except I had to drill the hole in the back to fit the bar on the stand. Other than that I have no complaints.
