I have had these on my large wheeled garbage cans for years. During the winter it is dark when my wife leaves the house and these allow her to see the cans when backing up the car. The reflectivity is excellent. This is in north Vermont where it is not uncommon to be 15 to 20-degF below zero. The cans are always kept outside, so this shows how durable this tape is.

I have also used this tape on my bicycle helmet and bike seat, no issues at all. An excellent product.

Similar reflective strips to HFT 97562 sell [$] at truck stops. If you're an OTR interstate trucker, you can be pulled over and cited if you don't have enough reflectors on the rear and sides of your vehicle. [*] You have to clean the surface with 409 (or similar detergent cleaner), then wipe the surface dry before applying these reflectors. If there's any trace of dirt, grease, grime, etc... they create a barrier to prevent the permanent adhesive from bonding with the surface. If you're a commercial trucker, you should be familiar with FMCSA 393.13, 393.17, and 393.26 which all stipulates where and how far apart should these reflective tapes be mounted on your vehicle. Failure to comply means negligence (lawsuit) when you're in a chargeable accident. A slick lawyer can argue his/her injured client ran into you because you didn't have enough reflective tape (as required by FMCSA regs) on your vehicle, which is why the plaintiff deserves a million $$ (or more) in punitive damages. Having enough HFT 97562 on your commercial vehicle to comply with FMCSA regs is part of business management's "damage control" principles.

I have these on my boat,and car hauling and utility trailers as well as on my steel mailbox post.Been there several years and still stick fine and haven't faded.
