I've had this press for over seven years now. It's done everything I've asked of it and then some from differential bearings, u-joints, and the like, to straightening tie rod tubes and fabricating custom brackets. If you use it much, you'll want to make a platform so the working heights will be less awkward.

Used this press for ball joint , U joints and wheel bearings. So far so good 12 ton is plenty so far. Good enough for DIY use if you want to save money on expensive front end work!

Don't get carried away. I apparently pumped the handle too hard and the top bolt sheared clean off and boom, smack, crash (the smack was the handle hitting me square in the face & the crash was the 50lb jack hitting the floor). I was going to return it but with all the hassle that goes with a return (take apart, repack, have Fed Ex pick it up and then wait till it gets processed). I'll probably just get a new bolt and put in a smaller jack or just wont pull too hard. Seems kind of wrong that system is made in a way that a person can pump the jack till it breaks. I was just using it like I thought it was intended to be used and kerblewie. In the manual it says, "don't exceed 12 tons". It doesn't say how on earth you can know if you are 18,000lbs or 24,000lbs (9 ton vs. 12 ton). I wish there was some tangible way to tell.
Maybe someone in a quality control place can put an expensive force gauge in there and measure how much downward force on the handle produces 12 tons. I don't know if it is 5lbs or 20lbs. I've never jacked up a 24,000 pound rig before. A school bus weighs about 12 tons. Not one wheel, the entire bus. I figured it would take more than 5lbs on the handle.
I'll be upgrading my bolts and then baby it.

Trying to press out corvette axle bottom beam weld broke.Welded it back .Works for light duty.Jack does not work now ,leaks.

THIS PRESS WAS JUST HORRIABLE I USED IT ONCE AND BENT THE HELL OUT OF THE APRON I WAS JUST PRESSING IN A WHEEL BEARING WHICH ANY 12 TON PRESS SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM COMPLETING SO I RETURNED IT AND WENT ONLINE TO PURCHASE THE UPGRADED 20 TON THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME AN EXTRA $96 TO SHIP THE THING ON TOP OF THE 212 IM PAYING FOR THE PRESS I RATE THIS 1 STAR BUT IT DESERVES NONE
