12 Ton A-Frame Industrial Heavy Duty Floor Shop Press

Used this press for ball joint , U joints and wheel bearings. So far so good 12 ton is plenty so far. Good enough for DIY use if you want to save money on expensive front end work!

Was purchased to press a rear wheel bearing from a hub on a Lexus to save the cost that the dealer wanted for the bearing replacement. The parts provided were not exact. One of the four leg diagonal braces was too long so was bent to give the correct length. The two springs that serve to return the jack to the upward position would not fit between the two side pieces at the top of the A-frame. Washers had to be added to provide clearance. Although these are minor modifications, the manufacturer should provide the precise parts so the assembly does not require rework by the purchaser. Once assembled with the modificatins described, the press served the intended purpose of pressing a bearing from its hub. This is the only job it has been used on to date.

I've had this for 10+ yrs, DIY type use. For the $, probably one of the best tools I've bought; it was $99 or less when purchased. I only use it a few times a yr but it has paid for itself many times over and saved many trips to a machine shop, and a lot of time too. The bad is the jacks just don't last more than 5 yrs even under very occasional use- they will eventually leak from the pump rod. I'm on my third jack. The 12 ton will not get everything off as I've had to take one thing to a shop; you may want to consider the 20T model.
