The pump has worked great in our use of pumping WVO into containers even though it is rated only for water.
After a year our impeller broke and we had difficulty ordering the replacement part because the manual and parts dept are not clear on what is needed. The impeller item 26a #27929 for $2.03 is all that is needed to make this pump work like new. So order a few of them for many years of service.

A self-priming centrifugal pump must have water in the casing in order to operate. You cannot pull any self-priming pump right out of the box, turn it on, and expect it to pump. If it's full of air, it won't prime. "Self-priming" refers to the pump's ability to repeatedly turn an air/water mixture into a pumpable fluid -- NOT the ability to create a vacuum (literally) out of thin air. In fact, you should never try to run a self-priming pump without water in the casing. It's dangerous and will often lead to seal failure.
So....pour some water in the pump before you connect the second hose and it will prime.

Nice little pump as long as you keep its intended use in mind. First, it's a vane-type pump so IT'S NOT SELF-PRIMING. If you try to use it that way, you'll ruin the pump vanes and housing in mere seconds. It's a little noisy, but if you're looking for quiet, you're going to pay a whole lot more. I'm using it for condensate removal so it runs only for 10 seconds every 15 minutes. It's been working great for two years. It hasn't leaked despite being under a constant 4psi static pressure. I didn't find the large alligator clips very useful. Chances are that most people won't. A more flexible power connection arrangement would be an improvement, or simply drop the clips altogether and lower the price a bit.

I used my first pump for several years, i pump water from a water tank mounted in the back of my pickup into the onboard water tank in my fifthwheel trailer. I bought a second one as a spare, I gave the first one to a friend and have been using the second one for over two years. The second pump works but makes a lot of noise, I'm buying another one for a backup.

Works great so long as operated within stated limits. I ran one too long and burned out the motor brushes. You can locate the part number of the impeller in the user/product manual and contact Harbor Freight customer support and order spare parts.

Went through six of the bigger pump (260 GPH #94639) and replaced it inadvertently with this one (went to buy two of the other and got one of these accidentally). The big one quit in the same day - this one is going into it's second season! Using as a circulation pump for spraying grapes so it's exposed to bordeaux solution and oils. Very pleased and the volume seems to be the same or better than the "bigger" one. NOTE: you must give these a little bit of liquid to lubricate the impeller before pumping. DO NOT TRY TO USE IT DRY OUT OF THE BOX! They will self prime with just a sip in the intake tube and impeller.

I bought this pump for my boat bilge. Works great and fast. Had a leak in mine, while it was docked. Pumped the bilge fast with some 5/8 water hose.
