After reading other comments, I was worried this wouldn't serve my needs. However, I cut 16 gauge stainless steel like butter. The cut was clean with no burs and no undue bending of the piece. Perhaps stainless that thick will shorten the life of the shear, but so far I'm happy with the quality and ease of use.

Bought this to cut 0.09" plastic panels. It works great as I have to knock down 4'x8' panels in to smaller sections for my project. Scoring the sheets proved difficult and this tool did the trick.
so far so good. Got it for good price with the 20% discount.

I've cut copper, aluminum, steel and plastics and no problems were encountered until I tried cutting a 12 gage of copper which finally broke the blade after quite a bit of cutting.

I had bought a total of 5 of these cutters just to find one that worked. Quality control is not there. But if you can get one that works you got it made.

Used to cut 29 gauge metal roofing.Adjustable head very handy. Will cut around a curve. best to use 3/4" hole saw in the corners first. A little hard to cut over a rib. Best to throttle up and push hard. Scratches paint, best to use masking tape on good side or cut from backside. Way better than a jig saw or hand snips.

Have been using these for about 3 years. No issues at all. Cutting duct work and furnace sides with ease.

So I got this to cut 14 gauge sheet for my BBQ construction- considering that a competing brand that would do the same metal would run $450, I decided to give this a try in spite of some of the negative reviews. So far, it's done a great job! It's definitely not just a click and go, you have to position it right, and on longer cuts you'll need to adjust the curl coming off the cut so it doesn't make it jam, but that would be the case on any shear- great value, seems to be decent quality, especially for the money!

Needed to make some straight cuts on 16gauge metal and this did the trick. Easy to use and cuts well leaving relatively smooth edges. I've cut about 10' of metal so far and very happy I bought this. Highly recommended.

I've had these shears for over a year now, and have been pleasantly surprised. I purchased them specifically for cutting metal roofing/flashing. I was somewhat skeptical at first because I hadn't owned any tools from Harbor Freight before. Also, I had my concerns about how well they held up after repeated use. They are still going strong. I haven't tried using them on Hardy Board, so I have no input for that. For metal, they work great; and at a fraction of the cost of other brands.
