If your bending tubing with this, weld a cap onto one end of your tubing, fill the entire tube with sand and weld a cap on the second end. So should have a tube with a cap on either end, and packed with sand. Then do your bends on your tube, you will get mandrel bends this way, meaning the tube will be nearly perfectly round after bending it on the bender instead of crimping or kinking. Cut both ends off and save sand for next tube. Your products will come out cleanly with this method.

prefer the air hydraulic one but this works ok. tryied it for bending electrical pipe for electricity. (galvanized) it crimps pipe a little if you bend to much. but works fine. for a 90° bend you need to bend little by little and not all in the same place

I am using it to build a go cart frame out of 3/4 pipe 1/8 thick. I haven't had any problems with kinking or bad looking bends. The worst part of the bender is cleaning all the paint out of the dies so they will fit on the jack and it will only do 90 degree bends neatly. This was my first time ever using a bender and it was easy to use, I made about 20 bends and only kinked one and it was my fault.

Depending on thickness of pipe, may kink pipe, however if you fill with sand and cap the ends you will be ok---with thinner pipes. Nice and heavy steel used to fabricate bender.

The intention was to make a temprorary tubing frame as form - unfortunatly the outcome was less than satisfactory - 3/4" conduit wrinkled and got dammaged from the rollers which do not turn ... this unit is more a pipe stretcher than bender ...
If you make rough work where the appearans of the finished product is secondary it might work for you - if you need a smooth and nice appearnace than this unit is not it.

had 12ton and it broke so came and got 16ton bender for 1.5in solid and the cast iron roller snapped in half....so website say it will do solid but there is sticker right on bender only use with thin walled tubing

Completely worthless. More of a pipe crimper than anything else. Took it back after ruining a $50 2" pipe.

Don't even waste your time. I've used other pipe benders in the past, and I can tell you this one is pure junk.
