The first one was great, but the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, not so great Review by Matt Dodd
-
I work in the sign industry and we bought one for our CNC Router. The first one lasted over a year. I was impressed with its ability to collect aluminum, acrylic, foam, and mdo plywood shavings with ease. Then the motor went out. It was out of warranty so we bought another one. It lasted a week, the 3rd lasted about 2 weeks, and the 4th lasted about 2 days. We will not buy another one. I'm not sure if maybe we are over working the equipment because the first one was great.

Great dust collector, especially at $135 Review by Jeff B
-
This dust collector has huge power. The stated 1550 CFM may be a stretch, but regardless it collects dust very effectively. The 5 micron bag is not sufficient to protect against lung damage, so I use a trash can cyclone lid to capture the big stuff and everything else is vented to the outside which works great. There's not another collector (especially at the price point) out there that can touch this in my opinion. Buy it, you won't be disappointed!

Great dust collector! Review by Zedd
-
I've owned this collector for about 6-8yrs now; and the only problem that I've had with it was the on/off switch. I've also put a pre collector in front of the dust collector, (like the HF #98023 on top of a 33gal. trash can, Metal can NOT a plastic can. It will suck a plastic down and fold it right up!), it works great!!! Works just as good as those $5-600 ones! If not better! Can't beat it with a stick!!
Great buy!!!

Best bang for the buck Review by A great buy!!!!
-
If you're using a blast cabinet, this will make a great addition to your shop! It works great and does exactly what it's suppose to do.
I agree with the others, get a 1 micron bag filter, or the canister type.
This works great with the stand up HF cabinet. Works great with all
types of media.
Very worth the Money!!!

Amazing deal.... Review by mr_handy

Just picked up one of these with a coupon for $135 or so.
That's about 1/3 the price of a similar "name brand" model, so I could buy a canister filter for it and STILL be way cheaper.
Don't let the "20 AMP Peak" rating concern you.
I'm not sure exactly what they are trying to say with that rating, but the sticker on the unit says "14 amps", and I've been running it on a 15 amp circuit with no problems. ( even with no ducting connected, which is "peak load" for a blower)
This item is truly one of the gems of Harbor Freight!!!

Great dust collector. Just don't leave it stock! Review by dbhost

I have reviewed this DC elsewhere. This is a great DC, the best bang for the buck, and certainly one of Harbor Freight's gems, but this DC has a HUGE disadvantage in the filter bag being a 5 micron bag. It is commonly accepted that it is the particles between 1 and 5 microns that are the most dangerous to your health and this thing misses them, which would mean you are picking them up, and spewing them back out into the air. I do recommend you pick up this collector, but add 1 micron or better filter bags, or canister filters. Even if you add a canister filter, you are still money ahead of competing dust collectors.
