I bought this plagpole despite the reviews stating that it would not unlock after time. To solve that, buy a 3/16" chain link, a 1/4" pulley. a rope cleat and 50' of 1/4" nylon rope. Remove the lower 2 plastic flag holders and attach the pulley to the top one with the chain link. Attach the rope cleat on the bottom section and thread the rope. Presto - a flagpole where you can raise and lower the flag, not the pole. Works great, is easy and costs little. For the overall price, you can't go wrong.

I installed the pole, the American Flag along with a second flag in an area at the end of my Driveway. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, I continue to get positive comments from Visitors. I installed the sleeve per the Instructions, encasing it in concrete. The telescopic feature will allow me to store indoors in high wind situations just to be on the safe side.

I live in Nevada, contrary to popular belief it is not all desert here. We get wind and snow AND hot summers, and this pole has stood up to most of it. It is well lit at night with an LED floodlamp, and flies 24/7 (I bring it in during very windy days(over 40mph) and during heavy snow.)
I went to a local building supply store and picked up a piece of electrical conduit the same diameter as the mount in the packageing, but about a foot longer and mounted it in concrete.

Retired now and wanted to show my pride. Most flag poles are almost #300 or more. Just can't afford that really. This one to me is just as good. Neighbors love it. I fly the US Flag and POW MIA flag on it for my brothers still not home. Yes the poles are hard to unlock after awhile but easy to pull the whole thing out of support in ground. It's held up to several strong New England Storms. For this price I could get six of these instead of one of those expensive ones. Best deal going out there.

I BOUGHT THIS FLAG POLE EVEN AFTER READING SOME NEGATIVE COMMENTS. I HAVE HAD IT FOR ALMOST 9 MONTHS AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE INEXPENSIVE FLAG THAT CAME WITH IT. IT HAS NEVER BEEN TAKEN DOWN EXCEPT TO CHANGE THE FLAG AND YES THE TWIST SECTIONS DO NOT WORK ANYMORE BUT WHO CARES FOR THE PRICE THAT I PAID. I JUST MADE THE BASE SLIGHTLY BIGGER AND I JUST LIFT THE WHOLE POLE OUT OF THE GROUND (IT WEIGHS NOTHING). TRY GOING TO BUY A REGULAR FLAG POLE…LOL YOU WILL COME BACK AFTER THE STICKER SHOCK. THIS FLAG POLE COST THE SAME AMOUNT AS THREE FRIENDS AT A BAR WITH SOME WINGS AND A FEW PITCHERS OF BEER. THIS POLE HAS BEEN THROUGH SOME 50 MPH WINDS AND HELD ITS OWN (EVEN TO MY SURPRISE). I HAVE AN AMERICAN FLAG ON TOP AND A NAVY FLAG ON THE BOTTOM….SEMPER FORTIS

I have been flying my flag for over 6 mos. with no issues. The flag in the kit is very light and flys in very low winds. Flag faded and has been replaced but still a very good value.

I bought this unit in july, Have had no problems. I plan on getting another one for my vacation cabin. Looks great, and works fine. I have been in some bad wind storms already and have had no problems at all.
