This planer is a great tool. I plane barn lumber and that that job is not light-duty thing to do. I planed some great wood all the wood i plane is all hard-wood including hard-maple, walnut, oak and some other wood i was not to sure what it was. the knifes held up nicely because the barn lumber has a lot of grit but they stay sharp. so if you want a nice planer this is the one.

I use this to plane down hard woods and it works very well. The motor is powerful. This is the first electric planer I have owned so I can't compare it to other planers but I am satisfied with this product.

Good tool for the money, particularly for those who only need it occasionally. This planer is reasonably easy to use, it is lightweight and easy to control. The only real drawbacks are the poorly designed chip discharge & lack of easy-to-read markings on the depth adjustment. Overall I am satisfied with this planer.

I used mine to plane down the inside of an arcade machine. Went through staples and everything. It nicked the blades a bit, but not too bad. I didn't pay much for it though, and really only expected it to last for that one job. Later i planed down a couple of doors. No problems with the belt like others have reported. Maybe they have changed them. I would give this planer a 5 star if the fence wasn't such a flimsy piece of c***. The fence doesn't even have an angle adjustment. Still did the job i needed and paid for itself on that one job.

I have an older model of this planer.it is green.worked just fine for what I used it for.dont push the tool take only small cuts.belt broke first year,sent for 12 new belts,cheep. after a few the unused belts cracked and fell apart.they need a better belt material.

I purchased this same planer a long time ago (it was green) and got a lot of use out of it, initially, and then less over a span of about, what 6-7 years. Brought it out for a project, belt vaporized, replacement belt also disintegrated. I imagine the polymer they used just isn't that robust. Ajustment knobs etc not that precise. Frankly I was surprised the thing didn't break earlier. It feels a little like it came in a "bob the builder," toy tool set.
