We purchased this to carry our trash and recycling bins to the convenience center, and have been very pleased with our purchase. Assembly took a little while, but installing the shelf was easy. Both of the large bins fit perfectly, with some room to spare. We couldn't find a similar product anywhere for a price could even touch Harbor Freight's. If you need a little extra room, or need to haul something that you don't want to put in the back of your car/SUV, this is a perfect solution.

I have owned this aluminum excess cargo carrier for 8 years and it is still going strong. Aluminum prevents rust which is important if you go to the beach on the Texas Gulf Coast. I have also carried a few harvested deer in it with no problems. I've put ice chests in it, firewood in it. The assembly is not too bad. The sides of the rack are higher than others I've seen. Aluminum makes it lightweight. It fits slightly loose in the receiver, but not bad. Overall, I'd definitely buy this same one again if I needed another.

Moved washer and dryer, side-by-side and tied down atop 2x4 skids, accross the state (twice)!! Assembly is a bit tedious but simple. Used for 3 years on my Nissan Quest, with a step-up adaptor for ground clearance. I'm always ready for anything, with 7 passenger seating for children, plus mini-pick-up like bed. I'm a land-lord, so this has come in handy. I just added a 4x8 folding trailer, and truck to broaden my capacities.

I've used this cargo carrier to haul items to the dump and also items to the beach. The best feature of this carrier is that it is light weight and I can attach it to my vehicle myself. I have a class 3 hitch so I can carry 500 lbs. Definately do yourself a favor and purchase one of these. I attach mine with a lock so no one will steal it. ;)

This is a great cargo carrier. I am glad I purchased this aluminum carrier as it is lightweight allowing me to install it on my Ford Flex without any assistance. I have used it to haul garbage to the dump and have also used it to carry items to the beach. Nothing extremely heavy yet but good to know that I can load it up with up to 500lb capacity which is a great feature. The reflectors are nice to have. I like the long receiver which should allow it to be used on all types of vehicles. This is better than having a roof top carrier! After I installed the carrier on my vehicle, I used a sharpie marker and drew a line on the receiver where it meets the hitch so now I know exactly how far to install the carrier without having to guess where the holes on the receiver will line up with the hitch. I also would suggest using a lock to secure it to your vehicle so no one steals the carrier. ;)

I feel that this cargo carrier is the perfect size for my uses. It's not so wide that it overhangs the side of my car nor even blocks the tail lights. On the other hand it neatly fits three 18 gallon totes. It has a fairly long tongue so it will still work with most recessed or 'hidden' receivers. My biggest complaint is that the tongue is a bit too narrow so I use an anti-rattle / silent hitch pin.

This is a great hauler. I'm a mech. eng. & it's well known that alum is one of the worst matls for shock/fatigue loading, so I was skeptical of the 500lb rating. I was relieved when I saw the STEEL reciever tube. Sure it adds weight but it also adds peace of mind. This is a great design although it is loose/rattly when mounted. I bought some rubberizer spay($4) & sprayed down the steel tube - no more rattle & stops rust! Oh & you can't beat the price.

Very nice carrier... I agree with some others, if it takes you more than 30 minutes to put this thing together something is wrong. It went together perfectly and easily. It is very light, much better than the heavy steel ones.

Bought this carrier for trip back to Indy from San Antonio. We wanted to keep third row seat up for our grandson to ride back with us. Carrier held large amount of luggage allowing us to use all the seats in our Explorer. Recommend buying a cargo bag to protect cargo from weather.

Lightweight, strong, no rust/paint (except main support). I had an all-steel carrier that ended up rusting away (mesh floor). Used this carrier today to transport a large leather chair that was too tall to fit inside the Jeep. Also handy for gas containers, used motor oil, bags of soil, bags of cans to recycle, etc that gets messy/smelly inside.
