The gas smell described above is the wool, most military blankets smell the same way when new. It is strong but it goes away with time. Hang them outside for a day or two and it will start to go away.

Got 4 of these. 2 for my vehicles for emergencies and 2 for camping. They're not Pendleton or Hudson Bay by any stretch but after you air them out they are just as warm. I ran 2 through a cold wash and air dry and it softened up and got fluffier. Perfect for camping when you don't want to ruin a pricy wool blanket and a super bargain here. I keep wanting to buy more just because of the value.

This blanket is great, I keep it at the foot of the bed year round just in case I catch a chill. I'll be getting 2-3 more of these for my camping gear, they don't weigh as much as my US Army wool blanket but so far seem just as warm. They'll make for great padding in the tent or just an extra layer in the hammock.

I ordered 10, and when they arrived I ordered another 10 wool blankets. Excellent buy, I use them for home, truck and just about anything else.

Other wool and wool blend blankets cost much more. I buy one or two every time I see them in the store. They're great for camping or any time you need a spare blanket. They're big enough for a big man. Since I started using these with my cot while camping, I rarely need the heater anymore.

The instructions say, "do not wash," but I wash mine all the time. If you dry them, they'll shrink a little, but it's not a real problem. One of mine has started to degrade in the wash (dozens of little balls of wool everywhere), but it's been washed at least ten times.

These blankets are surprisingly warm. They can be a little scratchy on bare skin. This is a good, simple product, useful at a very good price.

I wanted a washable wool blanket, and was unsure about these because washing instructions weren't included in the web description. Well, the tag says "dry clean only."

For the price, I decided to wash one, anyway. I washed it in cold water, then did an extra vinegar rinse, and then dried it in my dryer.

The blanket was actually 68 X 70 inches and each side shrank about one and a half inches. The blanket "puffed up" and softened, very little lint.

It is toasty warm, soft and cuddly. I am very pleased with this product.

It does have an initial smell, but that goes away once you air it out. I did wash it like others who reviewed it and it fluffed up somewhat. Putting it in a duvet cover makes it easier to keep clean and makes it look nicer and feel better against your skin. It helped keep me warm and keep the heating bills down during winter.

I ordered 4 of these. Product came in individual plastic and all 4 blankets smell of gas. I washed them and they still smell. I did not bother with returning as I am not sure if they would accept the product after washing. Also, the hassle of returning and the costs involved. Don't know what to do with the smell from hereon.
