I have had this thing over 5 years, and it has been used a lot. It is as accurate as any meter I have ever used. From reading the other reviews, the main complaint seems to be the display reliability: I don't really use the adjustable angle, (it's pretty worthless), but any display which allows movement is subject to the kinds of problems the users are experiencing, so don't go grabbing it and moving it around and you will be fine. Leave it flat: don't touch it. Users also need to understand this is a MANUAL RANGE meter, so it is very possible for it to "not work right" if you have it on the wrong setting. Again, move slowly and double check your function and range settings before making the measurement. All in all, this has been a solid workhorse for me.

Had this meter for a few years, used most of its functions and it's worked very well. Only problem has been the lead plug sockets. They were physically attached to the board ok, but not electrically. Slight movement of the plug and contact was lost. Resoldered them and they are better, but sometimes still need a wiggle to make good contact. Like most HF stuff, you can't be rough with it, but for the price, you can't beat it.

I install car audio and I used to have the cheap smaller one that HF sells. It works fine and the only reason I got this one is because it looks more high tech and customers would rather seem me using this "expensive" piece of equipment rather than that dinky little one(but it's still good)I compared it to a Fluke meter on different setting and with different tests and the readings were exactly the same. Except I paid [$] for this and a Fluke meter is hundreds.I haven't had a problem with the LCD or anything like people are saying. And I'm pretty rough with my tools. This has been thrown around and dropped quite a bit. I don't use the LCD tilt function so maybe that's why my screen is still good. It's a pointless function. The only thing I would add to this is a backlight. I'm surprised it didn't have one since the cheap little ones here do.

I do not recommend this product due to it poor durability. only works well when first had it but once stored and left outside for couple hours under sun, it screws it all up. the screen did not show all the numbers but only the top half until u press on the screen. Also the plastic around the on/off switch started to shrink. I just threw mine in the trash can today. i hate it so bad, i feel it was a waste of [$]. You're better investing in something more durable.

I had the same problems that a couple of other people stated here about this meter. The numbers are losing their bottom halves. This makes the values on the scope illegible. I'm going to try and replace it with another meter and hope this doesn't happen with that one as well. It sounds like it's a common problem though. For the price this'd be a great meter if it worked properly!

I purchased this meter for my D.C. lab, and have used in in digital combinational logic, and A.C. lab. It is a great meter for the price, accurate readings, measures caps and has an easy to read display. Fist one I got for HF had the lcd go bad and I had to return it, but the second one I have now has not given me a bit of trouble. Overall can't ask more for the money

Upon Dissasembly I Found With 1 Exception The Quality To Be 1st Rate.


All Functions Work Well And The Accuracy is Better Than I Expected.


I Took A Star Off For The Tilting Lcd Module.


The Concept Is Nice But The Connector Rubs Against Circuit Board


Components And Wont Last Long.


To Eliminate Early Failure I Built A Stand Using 12 Guage Romex


Attached To the Test Lead Holder On The Back And Leave The Lcd


Modude Alone.


You Wont Find A Better Meter For The Price.

Worked exactly how I expected it to work. I also like the terminal caps that were included.





Although it says back-ordered, my store in NJ had around 4-5 when I picked mine up.
