When I received the box with stand in it the box was TAPED ON BOTH ENDS WITH HALF A ROLL OF TAPE, ALSO THE FRONT OF THE BOX HAD ONE TAB OUTSIDE THE BOX WHILE THE OTHER TWO WERE INSIDE THE BOX, AND AGAIN MORE TAPE USED TO COVER UP THERE PROBLEM OF OPENING THE BOX TAKING OUT WHAT THEY WANTED- FIVE INPORTANT PIECES ''MISSING'' & THEN SHOVING THE REST BACK INTO THE BOX & NO MANUAL

Read the comments on not holding a load. I went to HF store, saw these, got the demo down and tightened up the collar. Put all my weight on it 185 lbs. It did not move. I picked up two. Putting them together is easy. However I found the screws that hold it together were not very good so I replaced most of them with ones I had and all is well. There is a plastic piece that looks like it's nothing more than a dust cover for the top of the legs. When I put the first one together I found that that piece stopped you from tightening up the collar all the way so I took it off and the stands work great. Again both can hold all my 185 lbs no problem. Very solid.

The first thing I noticed was how well the overall stand design was. As I assembled it I noticed how under executed the individual parts were. Adjustments are difficult. The fastening collar cracked while I tightened it. A PVC 2" threaded cap and a half an hour of set up and lathe time and some glue to reinforce the collar and it is now bullet proof. The leg braces are oh-too-thin tube. You figure this out when you use your foot while struggling to adjust the height. Thi$ thing will do, $ort of.

Assembly was pretty straight foward however the hardware (screws) were of very cheap quality, as is often the case with HF tools.
The tool worked as advertised, but it is difficult to readjust. In order to raise up the roller, after it was set requires you to unscrew the large plastic locking nut on the Junction Bracket then loosen the collet. this is very annoying 'cause the locking nut requires too many turns.
The cross brace which ties the legs together is of cheap quality. It bends easily.

I do not recommend purchasing this product if you plan on working with heavy material.

Assembly went smooth.
However, when I tried to tighten the plastic collar it simply turned and did not tighten. It acted as if it was over sized or cracked.

I only spent enough time analyzing it to say it was nowhere near hitting the "dust cap", and was not cross threaded.

Returned it the next day and purchased my third 68898 roller stand (which has really improved in the year since I purchased my first one).

*Says it's rated for 100 lbs, nope. Wouldn't support a 2x6x8 board with out dipping.
*Doesn't fold up
*Has hard plastic feet that move
*Wasted 30 minutes assembling to be disappointed on a first pass of wood.
-My general criteria for Harbor Freight is I won't buy anything with a motor, and I don't plan on daily or heavy use out of it..... Those are pretty lax standards and this stand didn't even live up to those. So unless you're planning on running light boards like trim stay away from this tool.

The adjustment is terrible. Once you have tightened the collar, it is impossible to re-adjust the height without unscrewing the collar, which takes many, many turns, pulling up on the shaft to release the tapered collet inside, then screwing down the collar (many many) turns.

The leg braces are super thin, and I bent them by holding the base down and pulling up to adjust the height.

Then the collar split.
