I bought this pump around 4 years ago, rarely used it those 4 years. Well over an hour ago I dug it out to pump over 5 years, 5 months of accumulated water in my 32' x 52' crawl space, about 4" deep for the whole space.

I am using a HarborFreight 1/2" $30 hammer/regular drill to drive it. I just checked the drill and it is still cool to the touch.

Once I got the 3/4" id vinyl tubing situated to where it will pick up and discharge correctly, it hasn't been touched and so far, it's still working. At first I watched it for 1/2 hour or so to be sure the the vinyl tubing didn't move. After that I did other things, then check every 5-10 minutes.

I think some of the problems caused were from a defective part ( i've had one or two) or the pump not being used correctly.

I purchased this pump a few years ago and I have used it on diesel and gasoline. Last weekend I pumped 40 gallons out of a oil tank. Tonight I pumped 70 gallons of hydraulic fluid into a Semi truck's tank. It pumps a 5 gallon bucket in less than a minute. Works great and well worth the money. You do need a high speed drill, those low speed cordless drill won't turn it fast enough.

We use it to take oil out of 55 gl drums and our 250 gallon tank . To our oil burner.It was fast and easy. jest had to prim it. I would use it for anything with oil. I wouldn't use it for gas though. Or anything you wouldn't be able to prim it with. I'm getting 3 more to be used for different things in the shop. We have pumped over 2000 gallons with it and its still pumping strong. And a great price for it to. pumps at other stores are over $180.00 hand would have to pump them by hand. This goes right on a drill and make s it faster.

I'm not sure why some have had difficulty with this pump. We found it quite capable and easy to use.

Our application: Bolted to a Harbor Freight service cart with 1" clear vinyl hose (with hose clamps) on both ports (in and out). The cart carries the 5 gallon gas cans, fire extinguishers, grounding cable, this pump and hoses. We've used it to pump fuel vertically from cart level to ten feet high. We were stunned with its capability. It will pump a 5 gallon can dry in less than thirty seconds. It's amazing. We use an 18V cordless drill so the cart is totally self-contained. It comes with mounting hardware and spare parts. This is a great product.

I did not think this pump worked at all using both battery and a/c powered drill motors. Neither motor went above 1300 RPM. Before returning the pump, I tried a 2100 RPM motor ... worked GREAT!

Purchased this pump a couple of weeks ago. You do not need an electric drill if you have a high quality cordless. I have used it with both Milwaukee and Porter Cable 18v Drills and it will run forever. I have emptied 50 Gallon tubs of water in a matter of minutes. This pump has many uses and works very well! I have a 3 foot hose on the suction end and it self priming at that distance, I have not tried anything longer than that. I have used other smaller pumps from hoem depot/menards and they do not pump well, and break easily. I calculated the cheap ones to pump about 1 GPM and this pump to be about 10-11 GPM. Highly recommended!

I use this to pump kerosene from portable conatiners into a 30-gallon drum. Attaches directly to a 3/8 electric drill. Bought plastic hose from hardware store to attach to pump. Works fine- empties a 6-gallon container in one minute. Does not leak. Self primes (the whiners who say it doesn't probably are running it backwards). When motor shuts off, pump allows siphon flow in either direction.

I needed pump to help me pump about 6" of water out of my pool to repair a leak. Pool is 18' round.
This pump is all that is says it is. It self primed. I had it on a 1/2" drill and that was the only drawback. I might look for a motor and permanently mount it.
After pumping a bit i cut the drill off and the water continued to siphon naturally so it will continue to drain the pool even without the pump.

I use it to transfer gas and it works really well. It is self priming, has a really great transfer speed and so far quite durable. I have used it for 4 years now with no problems. I love it.Now, note that if there is a low level in the one tank you may have to prime a little but that is not much of a problem. It only take a pint of so the get here going.
