The guide bearings on the unit are not sealed. So they quickly fail when powdered steel gets in them. Timkin sells sealed replacement bearings for about $14 each for the six of them.

I have used and abused this saw, and it did very very well. I was consistently cutting 4140 steel 1 inch thick. Set it and forget it.
After 3 years of solid abuse, the worm gear gave out. I came to find that the gear box was empty of oil, totally my fault, never checked it.
WARNING: Check the gear box regularly for oil...if it wears out, pita and expensive to replace.

Handy to approximate length before turning. Cuts slow and crooked on large stock. The wheels are not attached well, so find a good place for it to live and dont move it.Will buy a bigger bad'r and better one when this eventually wears out...

it is a little tough to put together by your self after you get the leges on it, it goes together real well saw runs quiet. I cut a couple of peices and the blade tracked good, cut square, all in all a real good deal

This is one of those HF gems. However, like many of their tools, it requires some tuning right out of the box. They sell some USA made blades in store that are worlds above the one supplied with the saw. You'll also want to do something about the stand it ships with.

Regardless I've used this saw for countless fabrication projects. It's cut a lot of tubing!!

There are some sites on the web that have mods for this saw. Many of them are quite useful.

Overall, a great product and I'm quite happy with it. Next time, I'll probably buy the larger model they sell.

First of all the blade that came with the saw was broken. Good thing i had purchased an extra American made blade.The base was hard to install and cheep.I had to loosen the guide rollers to install the new blade. The lock down pin wouldn't fit and I had to drill out to use. When i turned it on there was a clunking noise coming from the drive wheel. The casting is rough and needed to be filed smooth. I would not recommend this to anyone that doesn't want to spend a good afternoon tweaking and fixing the lack of quality.

It works well get the job done. Buy the more expensive made in USA blades they last much longer. The blade that cam with it lasted only few cuts and other budget blades gave me the same problems same. I was beginning to this I was doing something but bought the more expensive made in USA Blades and the last MUCH longer.

I've bought a lot of products from h\harbor freight over the years, a lot! Now that being said, almost everything is a great value for the price but this saw is just a great saw. The stand could be beefier but so could every other bandsaw stand ive used, its a convenient height & has wheels which s a big plus in a small shop. My advice, dont buy a chop saw, buy a band saw!

What a great little saw!! I just finished my first job 62 cuts in 3 x 3 6061 Alum.


the saw worked like a big cutoff saw!! 200.00 how can you go wrong? However,


just toss the blade it comes with. Get yourself a good quality Starret or equal blade and this will cut straight and without any problems. I would buy another in a second! (use the 20% off Harbor Freight offers from time to time) No Oil drips
