As I do custom piece work, (sometimes in multiples), this saw really has done a good job for me. I thought of buying a larger one for a lot more money but, Why? When this one just keeps on doing the job. Takes up less space, is not something that has to have a dedicated space. Just bring it out and set up your horses & rollers, start cuttin'. Just like any piece of equipment, if you set it up correctly, you'll get good square cuts. I've had other saws just like this one and this one is every bit as good.

First off, let's face it, this version of the classic 4x6 saw is already less costly than the other sellers' versions , and they charge much more for shipping. Got this on sale and with the extra 20% off it was less than $200.

That said, I gave it 5 stars, in consideration of what I got for the price I paid. one warning, it is heavy, and almost too much for one person to handle safely. I had an older lower tool chest that just happened to be 26.5" wide, and the saw fits perfectly on the top, with a working height of 35". The stand is workable, but flimsy, the cabinet was a much better option, and I can bolt the saw base down so it won't flip over if I go to the verticle position too quickly. Frankly, the saw on the floor in the store was a mess, but mine came in looking perfect. Needless to say, the blade is useless, so I got an Olson bimetal blade, and it cuts almost 3 times faster. Motor is not thermally protected, so don't load it down, but it is great to set on slow, stack all my metal to be cut, and let it work, while I go about my business in the shop, just periodically check the motor to make sure it is not running too hot. If you need to cut modest amounts of steel/aluminum, particularly at clean angles for fit up, do not hesitate on this one. The only isssue I have seen folks have was burning up the motor, by overloadging it (User's Fault). If that happens, I will just drop another 1HP Thermally protected motor into it. If you do use the stand, the model now shipping has angle brackets for the 4 courners of the stand that accept stud casters.

I think this is a great metal cutting bandsaw for the money, I'm a beginning knife maker and I use this to profile knife blades. It cuts metal and synthetic handle materials with out a problem, I only have 2 complaints witch is the stand and assembly. The stand is VERY flimsy, I had to set it up without the wheels cause the legs were buckling with them on but what do you expect for the price. The other thing was assembly, it took me about 3 hours or so just to get it up and running. Alot of the screws you have to unscrew to put on new blade and vertical table are very soft and are on very tight so stripping important screws was an issue but once you get it up and going it works like a champ. My buddy has had his for 5 years now without an issue. I highly recommend this for anyone that doesn't have alot of money for an expensive metal cutting bandsaw.

I bought this unit with a 20% off a couple months ago. I cut 1"x 2" 6061 flat stock solid aluminum and 1" x 1 1/4" flat stock. I tried the stock blade and it took 8 minutes to cut the 1x2. I bought a decent 10-14 tooth variable tooth blade for it and it cuts its now arond 2 minutes time which is plenty fast for me! Out of the box it cut within a few thousandths tolerance through the length of the material. The only nuisance I had was the automatic shut off tab needed to be fine tuned to work properly. Other than that it was the second best investment for my business that I can think of (besides my 3 axis CNC of course). Most definitely worth every penny for me!

I have used industrial large volume hydraulic coolant band saws and for the price this is worth it.

Bought this 4x6 at a sidewalk sale with a 20% discount. Excellent value for the price. Cut perfect straight out of the box. Replaced the stand with a two-drawer heavy duty file cabinet. Has been working for three years with no issues.

I have made about 50 cuts of 2x4" square tubing 3/16" thick and it runs like a champ. Never using a chop saw after owning this does not make a mess like a chop saw or the loud noise.

I owned this model for 15 years and used it to cut high carbon steel as a band saw. It finally got tweaked out from the extreme heavy use but was a more than worthwhile investment.

I have used this bandsaw for 8+ years so far and am very pleased with the quality of it. I use this for everything from schedule 80 pipe to cutting formed automotive sheetmetal and has functioned flawlessly! I did replace the blade with a higher quality one after the original one wore out and made a heavier bracket for the wheels, but all in all this is quite a worker!

heavy use to say the least i got my moneys worth the stand is a bit flimbsey i used this a lot in my shop to cut heavy steel 4 in thick or less and had it for 4 years i think..the motor has worn out so time to buy a new one or replace the motor its been a good saw but the stand wheels has a bracket that is weak and no longer supports the wt..if you buy this make your own braket and replace the one on the stand before you assemble it..blades do break from time to time but are cheap..im a heavy user of this saw

Im a welder fabricator. I run alot of metal through that saw. The first day I had it I ran that thing like SeaBiscuit for 10 hours and it ran great. I read in some reviews the gear box isnt sealed and leaks..... it is, all that needs to be done is tighten up the cover plate to set the right seal. Great product. Ive already recommended it to friends.
