Went to my HF store to pick up a smaller hand truck, but watch all the employees moving merchandise arround with these.I almost bought the next one down from this, which was virtually identical except it was red, had smaller tires, and no fenders, which it didn't need as the smaller wheels would clear any load.I started thinking about how much easier it would be to move heavy items up and down stairs with the larger inflatable tires, and ended up selling myself the more expensive hand truck. The first job for the new hand truck would be to move my new 290 lb air compressor from the back of my truck where I had miraculously unloaded it myself, to it's new home in the back of my garage. As soon as I went to lift the compressor, which was extremely difficult because it was still on the pallet which moved it's center past the edge of the hand truck. It took all of my body weight several bounces to get the compressor to tip back. Now that I have the weight of this thing balanced on the hand truck, I notice the left tire is completely flat. I had to air up my old compressor, which I thought I was done with, just so I'd have what I needed to move the new compressor in to place.I aired up both tires, noticed the right tire which wasn't completely flat only had 10psi.After airing up the tires I struggled once again to tilt this monster, then proceeded with it to the back of my garage.Wow, this thing just glided effortlessly across the uneven entrance to my garage and didn't even hick-up as I rolled it over the pressurized air hose that I'd left out to air up the tires.I don't know if this is the same release as those that have gotten such negative feedback because the truck itself seems quite well made, and my wheels appear to be reasonably heavy duty.Given the trouble I had lifting 300lbs, due to my inability to get the load all the way to the rear of the dolly, I don't believe I could have leveraged a 700lb load with this thing unless it were taller.I'm not saying the dolly couldn't handle a 700lb load, I'm saying I couldn't handle a 700lb load with this dolly.I'm giving it high marks because it worked perfectly for the job I bought it for, and will certainly serve me well in the futureOne of the other posters seemed a bit overly fond of hand trucks with solid rubber wheels, and while I can see a benefit in not having to worry about airing up the tires, I can't imagine using one with solid rubber tires for the move I did today, nor do I think they would fair well with a heavy load being maneuvered up or down stairs. Big inflatable tires for me thank you :)I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

I bought one of these a while ago. It has been my GO-TO hand truck for almost everything. It is fairly light, easily maneuverable, and the BIG tires make ruts and small obstructions moot. However, I used it for the first time to move a 680 lb. crate and the wheels collapsed under the weight. The "welds" holding the sheet metal wheels to the hubs are NOT strong enough to sustain ANY side load, so if your "700 pound" load isn't perfectly balanced and rolling on a flat level grade, be ready for the wheels to give out under the weight when the load shifts even slightly to one side. It IS fair to say that this hand truck can RELIABLY move around 400 pounds without any concerns, and the big wheels were the selling point. I'm going to replace the wheels and continue to enjoy this item, for lighter loads, and use my appliance dolly for the heavy stuff! I'd sure like HFT to offer the same dolly with stronger wheels and a 6-foot tall frame!

About Me Budget Shopper
Comments about Haul-Master 700 lb. Capacity Bigfoot Hand Truck:
I bought this to move several tons of rock to my backyard. I needed the large tires to go over dirt and uneven surfaces. For the price you can't go wrong. At the end I moved a 630lb boulder, knowing I was going to break it, since I was not rolling it on even surface. At the end one wheel peeled off the single weld, since 75% of the weight was on it. Another words I went over the limit, but I got the job done and I'm heading back to HF to pick up a replacement wheel. Very happy.

I would buy this product again. Love it

This is the first hand truck I have ever owned, and I love it. I have had it about 2 years now with no problems. The large wheels are excellent. I use it for moving common item such as heavy trash cans, batteries, stones, concrete blocks, fire wood and so on. It moves gracefully over stones, bumps, and that all to common 2-3 inch gap when loading a trailer. I have also taken it to work when I have a need for moving lots of stuff, so I have used it a lot. I don't know about 700 lbs., but it seams to me if you are moving that much weight, a hand truck is the wrong tool for the job. I have had 400 lbs. on it with no problem. The weight limit may be over stated, but for common use I doubt you will find a better hand truck for the price. As always, I did a quality check before purchasing it at the store, and i got exactly what I expected. Love it.

About Me Midrange Shopper
This really is an awesome dolly, unfortunately, it fails under heavy loads. Let me explain:The first thing I ever used this for was to move a cast iron stove. It was wonderful, Well balanced and I was able to easily pull that stove up a 5 inch step to get it out of the house. At that point, I realized that it was the best dolly I had used in the past 30'ish years. Then I used it when cutting trees in the forest. It worked really well for this task, the large 13" tires were perfect for pulling sectioned trees the 700-800 feet back to my wood chopping area. Unfortunately, as with other people, the thin sheet metal connection of the wheels to the hub just ripped and the tire fell off after about six trips. I never loaded it with more than 300lbs and the logging path I made was free from pot holes and other bumps and such.I would say, as Long as you are not going to move too much weight, it is awesome, but 700lbs... No not at all.I did replace the tires with 1,000lbs+ capacity tires and haven't had any further issues with it.So greater frame, bad tires.I would still recommend this item, as long as you are aware that you should not overload it. or it the tires do collapse, just get better rated tires and off you go..It is a good item and the price is really good as well.
Easy on my back

Moving 2 households at same time so needed workhorse dolly/handtruck. This was the answer - and I bought 2 - one for both houses. Only snag was second day in a flat tire. Finding the right inter-tube was not gonna happen quickly so broke down a purchased 2 flat-free replacements. Time literally was money and needed reliability over savings. Households moved successfully up and down 2 sets of 6 riser steps. Hand truck still waiting for more work. A tip for steps . . . cut up a 4X 6 board to 24" and place on steps - be careful where you walk. Makes pulling the hand truck up the steps so much easier.
A good tool to keep

Like the two big and soft wheels... I found that these wheels are not only good for running over a rough surface, it is also very helpful for going down the stairs (with heavy loads). Though, it might add some more benefits for going up and down stairs if adding two sliding steel bars on both sides like the expensive one... Have not got a chance to try moving heavy loads up the stairs yet
Love this hand truck!

I bought this hand truck about 8 years ago from HF and I have been very happy with it. Not sure it will take 700lb. load, but I used it for transporting bricks from my drive way to my back yard (bricks were stacked half way to top of handle) and it worked just fine. I have moved funiture, large potted plants, a washer & dryer and many other things with no problem. The wheels have always held up just fine. The only thing I don't like about it is that the tires loose air over time. But then, so does my bicycle! After 8 years of use, it still works great.

Get the one with solid wheels!

Some of HF's dollies have solid tires, not ones you pump up. Go for solid wheels! If you don't use it often, you'll inevitably go to use it and find a flat tire, like a wheelbarrow. I'm not talking about little plastic push lawnmower wheels. I mean solid rubber tires. They're fantastic.Spend the extra to get the heaviest duty you can afford. Eventually you'll need it.
Harsh Reviews for a good product

I got one of these for free because the tires were flat. I aired the tires up and they have been holding for a month. I use this to move appliances around my house and picking broken appliances. I have used this for refrigerators, washing machines, and other misc. appliances and parts. The bad points are paint quality on these is not great, it seems to come off fairly easy. Also, it really doesn't seem to handle heavy loads over 350 lbs. well. Unless you are very strong trying to pick up a 500-600 item with a dolly is dangerous anyway. The best part of this dolly is the large tires that handle obstacles extremely well. I can over bumps, steps, or rough terrain easily with the large tires. Overall I think for [$] you will not find a better buy for moving the majority of things a homeowner or do-it-yourselfer needs to move.
