Used in engine compartment of large boat to change oil.
Used on van to change tranny fluids. Used to lower level in radiator to add A/F. Used to drain gas from small engines for winter storage.

Must put some oil in it if you pump fuel or cleaning fluids. Had to place wire ties around the top and bottom pump body and on the hoses to maintain seal. Some HF super glue helps too. After 5 years and a little maintenance, it still works.

You can put those rubber parts in brake fluid, which will re-hydrate them and make the pump work again.

Try it out. :)

        Comments about Multi-Use Transfer Pump:

I used this pump to transfer 80w-90 into my manual transmission. It worked okay, but I should have chosen the bottle pump instead. Some of the fittings don't fit together very well and don't create a seal.

              Comments about Multi-Use Transfer Pump:

Like many, frequently, I buy things "just-in-case". I pulled this pump out of original packaging to use it after three years. IT DID NOT WORK, even after trying some oil in it. Lately, I have had "bad luck" with this non-USA stuff as to longevity. Ha Ha, "They" made me edit the original description as to country of origin.

                Comments about Multi-Use Transfer Pump:

What a waste of money this was. I used it to try to siphon motor oil from a car engine, but it could not develop enough vacuum. The hose also does not attach securely to the pump body, and the pressure from pumping the oil ended up blowing the hose right off, spraying motor oil all over my garage. I tossed this in the trash

                Comments about Multi-Use Transfer Pump:

On the front of the package it says, "ideal for changeing oil and siphoning gas". On the back there is a warning "Not for caustic or flammable liquids." What then is gas and oil if not flammable or caustic? Consumers Report would have fun with that. I used it once to change oil in a jet ski it worked fine but jury is still out on durability. I will write a follow up.

                Good idea, but needs improvement

                Comments about Multi-Use Transfer Pump:

The orange hose on the suction end tends to collapse when used to pump warm liquids, such as changing oil by first sucking oil out through the dipstick. This wouldn't happen if the hose had thicker walls, or was made from better material.

                Works well with limits...

                By Jim

                from Undisclosed

                Comments about Multi-Use Transfer Pump:

I have had several of these and they work well for gear oil, trans fluids, etc... but not for water or gas. Gas/Water cause the unit to either rust or the gasket inside to go bad.

If using for gas try and clean it out with oil after or just know its done for and don't relay on it after that.

But when new or used for oil it last a good amount of time and works very well.

So works well if you know its limits.
