I use this for making yogurt (7 qts ), soap & taking body temperature. Trust me it's accurate for that. Just hold pocket thermometer close to your neck.

Also, I somehow lost my directions & it read Centigrade...yikes! I call HF & a very helpful employee gave me the product # so I could get the instruction manual.

It doesn't get any better than that! Thank you HF!

Time and stopwatch are way too small to be usefull.
I've had mine for about 2 yrs and still orig battery. Use it about 3-5 times a month.
While it isn't calibratable it is very close to correct temperature.

Unlike probe type thermometers, nothing has to touch or be immersed so electrical equipment can be checked safely. Measurements are instantaneous.





I used it in a repair on a malfunctioning machine. There were many power transistors on a common heat sink. From the bottom of the circuit board where the transistor leads were soldered, I was able to identify which transistors were over heating.

I am on the road quite a bit with a pretty heavy fifth wheel. I have had this thing about 3 years with no problems. When I stop for a break I always check the tire temps to make sure they are all running about the same. Could indicate a problem. Also hit the hubs to check the temps of the bearings. I know that one side of the camper is heavier than the other and the temp of the tires show it every time. Wouldn't be on the road without it.

I love mine! Being computer technician/systems analyst for over 40 years and a general DIY'er I use mine frequently. Great for finding a hot spot on a circuit board, checking RV refrigerators, brake drum/disk temp when towing. One cannot possibly name all the uses for this little device. I don't remember when I bought mine, it was on sale. it has been well over two years ago and I just had to replace the battery. For my use it has been very a good investment. I write this review because I had to look up the instructions on how to set the clock. That pretty much says it all. Dependable, accurate, rugged and handy!

I have owned this for several years and frequently used it to check office temperatures in a multi-suite business ("my office is hot", "my office is cold" etc.). Regardless of the absolute accuracy, I was able to tell people what their office temps were relative to other spaces, and when one was signficantly too hot or too cold I could convince maintenance to act.

I use this thermometer in two scenarios. I use it for Temperature tests where I cannot touch the object, Temperature surveys, studies and if you set the clock, it will come on as a room thermometer, otherwise it will shut down after use.

Its small compact size is handy and the simple one button operation is great. Take care of it and it seems to hold up really well.

The battery lasted a couple of years but after I replaced the battery, the cheap battery terminals began to act up. Though they touch the battery, you get intermittant contacts due to the metal ionization. I tried putting a piece of aluminum foil between the cells and the contacts which seemed to improve the contact. Otherwise, this is a great compact thermometer for home or shop use.

It's much smaller than the pistol grip version sold by HF, so it takes up a lot less room in my tool box. I'm still trying to find out how to use the stop watch--will read the online manual.

I have had this thermometer about 2 years, still working great.

I did test the reading against 2 different expensive laser "guns", HF pocket

thermometer got the same reading!
