I bought the unit for a couple of small welding jobs and to heat treat a gear I made on my lathe and the unit worked perfect for each job. It is not inttnded for massive welding/cutting jobs, but for it's intended purpose it works perfectly.

bought this a few days ago and it was awesome used it to heat up a bolt to remove from a motor and it worked awesome recommend to anyone looking for a cheap affordable OXY-Acetylene Torch. Tanks Come empty and it was pretty inexpensive to have them swapped out for full ones at welding supply store!!!

I bought this rig about a year ago, using it only a few times for mild cutting, and occasionally heating stubborn fasteners.

Today I was re-organizing my work areas in my garage and removed this torch assembly from the hooks from which it was hanging, and noticed that both hoses were dry rotted beyond belief.

This thing was handy when I purchased it a year ago, now I won't use it until I can buy some new hoses for it.

The tanks, regulator, brass hardware, and carrying case are of significant high quality. The hoses are garbage. Keep that in mind if you intend to purchase.

Had I known how quickly the hoses would degrade beyond use when I purchased this, I may have waited and saved for a higher quality setup.

Hopefully I'll be able to buy a good set of hoses from my local welding supply company for less than what I paid for this kit.

I'm a bit on the fence about recommending this kit at the moment. I suppose I will recommend based on cost of tanks, regulator and torch, but not especially happily. :(

Small jobs.Easy to handle.Oxygen runs out quickly.Of course its made for small jobs.Hoses cracking.

The hoses have started to break near the ends, where the brass sleeve covers them. This makes them unsafe to use. There was plastic lodged in the oxygen check valve. The oxygen side produces a mysterious vibration when on.
