I use this winch to pull my quad up into the bed of my truck. It works GREAT.

I use this winch to pull wire through conduit in the electrical field. I pulled 4 350MCM copper conductors through a 3" conduit about 150'. It sets up easy and very portable any where in a building. All you need is a 12volt battery and a mounting platform. I made the platform myself.

I needed a winch to move a non running, classic car from an old building to a new one. A small incline was involved and about 50 feet towing. Since I was alone I needed a winch and couldn't get a vehicle with a winch into position. This little unit along with a HF jump box, towed it up the hill, over the 4" lip and onto the new concrete slab and into the building without a hitch. Slow but inexpensive and effective. Despite having a big winch on the front of my truck I'll be keeping this handy little unit for those cramped jobs where I need light towing and speed isn't a requirement.

use this only for light loads like pallets, or light tree limbs. If you need a cheap car winch or have cramped space use get the HF 5000 winch, great buy over "holidays"

I mounted this winch to the bed rail of my pickup and it actually pulled a bagster filled with 3000 lbs of plaster and lathe up a ramp made of 2x4 s and into the bed of my truck! Only problem was that w that much weight and drag the brake would not always hold so u just gotta keep going .

Hi, I bought this winch to help load a car (64 Impala) onto a rental trailer. Car was gutted so lighter then would have been normally. Winch was very very VERY slow to reel out line. Took 3 minutes plus to reel out 10-15 foot of line and had to pull the line the entire time to keep it moving.

Winch struggled to pull car up the ramps of the trailer but eventually got there and had more then enough power to pull on the flat. Winch was SLOW but worked. After our trip home, we tried to use the winch to let line out and help slowly back car down ramp. Line would bind and crimp on itsself. Had to disassemble winch and manually rewind. Tried again and bound up...

Ended up using a manual come along and worked in half the time. Not a bad winch probably for a light car... plenty of pulling power but the line out is slow.

I thought about getting one of these for my boat but think most boaters would get mad if I used this at the boat dock to reel in my boat, would be a 10 min process at least to get enough line out. Longer if it bound up again....

I have the big 12000 HF Badlands winch as well on my Jeep and that works like a champ,

Lastest less than 30 min, that is including the 28 min that it took to get the cable out. There is not a release for the cable and you have to power it out. Finally, hooked it up to a Jeep (2200 lbs) and after about 4 ft it started smoking and quit.
