Product Engineer Specialist

We are seeking a Product Engineer Specialist to join our growing QA Department at our Corporate Office in Camarillo, CA

Under the direction of the Senior Engineering Manager, the Product Engineer Specialist will focus on evaluating key product segments utilizing specific product/ market knowledge and experience to improve quality. This position will work cross functionally to support the merchandising and global sourcing teams to evaluate factories and products. He/she will be involved in strategic decisions regarding product specifications, branding and marketing. The position requires a hands-on energetic individual who has a passion for working with tools and solving problems. This position is for someone who enjoys a fast paced environment, thrives on new challenging projects, and is looking for an opportunity to grow with a dynamic and successful company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Work cross functionally with merchandizing teams to evaluate key product segments including product specifications, factory selection, competitive benchmarking, and testing.

    New and existing product development to realize improved return rates and market opportunities.

    Technical liaison between business units and suppliers.

    Verify conformance to industry and regulatory safety standards.

    Identify root causes and viable cost effective solutions.

    Insure timeliness, clarity and accuracy of all technical documentation and correspondence.

    Provide strong technical support to internal customers such as product category managers.

    Develop testing protocol aimed at meeting key product performance specifications and life cycle requirements.

    Must be a self starter, results driven and proven leadership ability.

    The ideal candidate must have product development expertise and hands on experience in one or more of the following product categories:
    • Electric and Gas Water Pumps
    • Welding Equipment and Accessories
    • Air Compressors
    • Outdoor Power Equipment

    Lead a team of technicians to meet timelines and departmental objectives.

    Global manufacturing experience especially in S.E. Asia countries

    Must possess sense of urgency, collaborative team style, and ability to quickly adapt to changes in priorities.

    Hands on working style with ability to trouble shoot, and analyze various types of products

    Excellent written and oral communication skills combined with strong organizational ability.


    Education and/or Experience:

    • BSME or BSEE from an accredited University; advanced degree is a plus.

    • Computer skills in project management, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
