I had been drooling over this for several months. She noticed it and the moment it went on sale, she picked up two of them. First complaint is that the crummy cardboard box was trashed by the plastic straps that everyone uses to pick up the box. There were gaps is the box that should have allowed parts to fall out. So I made sure to open immediately. I was shocked by the quality of the packing inside. Huge styrofoam on all corners and each and every part was wrapped in bubble wrap. Not one piece missing or even scratched. Truly amazed!Make sure you at least understand the assembly order. If not,you will enjoy taking critical parts off to fit in the one part you should have done first. Not a big deal but there are some parts that are particle board and do not really appreciate multiple screw sessions without disintegrating. I also decided to glue each and every screw surface. Any woodworker would consider that basic but I did not see that mentioned anywhere. That SHOULD be a recommendation. Drawer slides are stiff and that is good. They don't vibrate open no matter what I am doing on the bench. BRAVO! Don't get me wrong about the slides, they are pretty awesome. Smooth and have great stops. Wish they were a little longer but that would be an easy upgrade to full open slides. Those little part number stickers were hit and miss. Take a good look at the part's function and they are actually easily identified. Don't even expect the picture to help for squat. Not sure why they don't take a close up picture or explain the key spot that makes each piece unique. Use a drill/driver with a good clutch! They do include an Allen wrench but you would die before you got it done. You will also need a Phillips and a flat. The vise is OK. Already used the hell out of it. It works and having it integrated into the bench is awesome. It comes with four shorty pegs that are plastic or such. They fit well into the holes in the butcher block top. The tall (about 4") are square with a 1" round at the bottom for the holes in the work surface. They soooo sloppy in their fit that I can tilt them to about 4 degrees. That makes them pretty useless. It is really a shame since they are quality hardwood. The work top is pretty awesome. The legs are completely assembled and very good quality complete with decent cross bracing. The unit is heavy and that is really awesome when working on projects. I am almost three hundred pounds at 6'1" and I can climb on the table. I would not use it for a cot, but I just had to try. Nice touch that there is some kind of fuzzy stuff already adhered to to the drawer bottoms. This is a great little work bench. Pay attention to the size. It is NOT very big. The height is really short for me. Good thing the bottom of the legs are solid and flat on the floor front to back. A truly easy fix with a 2 x 4 on end. Used biscuits, screw and glue and it is now perfect for me. I can work without extending. Bottom line. You cannot go wrong with this bench. Well designed. Solid. And it really does look great in the shop. I wish they made a brother to this unit without vise and the peg holes. I would buy about five more and put my tools on them. If you notice someone that has a flimsy or crummy work bench, or none at all, this is a truly hero making gift!

My husband bought one of these, assembled it easily and I was so impressed, however when I ordered one for myself mine, unfortunately, came in with a broken table top (cracked right through), as well as 2 drawer parts that were damaged. I contacted the company who put in an order for the replacements. A week later I called as I had not heard anything from them. Nobody bothered to let me know that some of the parts were out of stock. So I sat waiting without anyone communicating with me on the products. I contacted them again and they said they were in the mail. Well 5 days later I received some of the parts but NOT the table top ... kind of the most important part! I phoned in and they said they would replace the entire unit but I had to return the other broken unit. This is very frustrating. 3 weeks of waiting with nobody communicating with me about any parts no longer being made and now they want me to return the broken parts. I would have thought they would allow me to keep the broken parts (since I sent photo's of the damage) to make up for the wasted time and inconvenience, but no, now I have to find a fedex location as well as a new box and the time to ship this thing back. I am VERY disappointed.

This was purchased as a general use workbench - a place to work on car parts, minor woodworking projects, for mounting a mechanic's vise, etc. I have yet to mount the vise as I haven't decided how permanent I want it to be.This bench went together very easily - follow the instructions step by step and in an hour and a half to two hours you'll be finished. It takes some care to put it together, but it presents no problems at all. Pay attention to the orientation of the parts on assembly - major parts conveniently have a label for the front. The finish of this unit is very pleasing - better than expected. Only complaint is that one drawer was lacking the felt lining on the bottom - I'll let it pass. This thing is HEAVY. Without my little hand truck it would have been tough to get into the house. At the store two employees loaded it into the car.It was very well packaged, too - small parts were bagged and labeled, with a parts count on the bag.All in all I'm looking forward to using it. I'm tall so I may want to find a way to raise it up a bit for a more convenient working height.Because the finish is so nice it will get a masonite or plywood top so as not to gouge it up in use.

I bought this bench for my small home workshop to clean my guns and make my own fishing lures. It's very durable and well made. The only problem that I have is that I screwed up and put the drawer in the track before it was completely assembled and now I can't get the drawer out of the track. The reason I put it in before the drawer was completely assembled is because I wanted to make sure that I was assembling it correctly. If anyone has any information on how to remove it, please advise. But this was a mistake that I made, not the product. Assembly was relatively easy. I used liquid nails on all the joints and that really made this bench solid as a rock.

Great workbench for the DIY'er

Got this as a fathers day gift and just got around to cleaning up the garage so I could give this bench a place in my garage. I'll be mainly using it as a reloading bench for ammo and also minor gunsmithing/gun maintenance. But the uses won't stop there, no more sitting on the floor or in the kitchen to do minor household projects. Don't think twice about buying this bench, its awesome.

I got this for hobby use(RC/soldering/small engine), and couldn't be happier with it. Opening the box was daunting, lots of pieces, but assembly is so easy my grandma could do it. All the screw holes lined up, I don't know where this is made, but I think NASA had something to do with it.The drawer slides and legs are preassembled so the hard parts are already done. The finished bench rivals high quality furniture, and it is all hardwood except the sides and bottoms of the drawers, which are green felt lined. I have it in my bedroom, it's that nice.I used the built-in vise(also preassembled) to put the drawers together as well.Nice touch, I may buy another 1 or 2.

TO MY SURPRISE
from Linden, NJ
To my surprise, this bench is really good. All parts are numbered so you can't screw up UNLESS you fail to read the directions--several times if needed. The parts all fit perfectly. Looking at the one in the store on display, I almost passed on this bench until I realized the one in the store was not correctly assembled.

I was concerned when the package arrived as it looked pretty beatne up. However, the parts inside were in perfect shape do to the excellent packaging. The bench looks great and is perfect for DIy projecs. The one issue I had was that the instruction photos were of such poor quality they were totaly useless.
Good workbench, AWESOME at the price!

I'm really impressed by what a great little workbench this is. Particularly for the price. A great work surface, some nice drawers, and a very functional wood vice. Nice! I'd recommend it to anyone, and give a full 5 stars based on the great quality for the price. But it's not perfect ...When I got this and realized it assembly hardware similar to the cheap MDF "put-together-at-home" furniture I used to buy after college, I was disappointed. But I quickly realized it was actually had very solid hardware and the bench was well designed for home assembly. I was a little disappointed that there was some MDF pieces around the drawers ... but it's fairly thick MDF and seems very solid. So when I was done these things that seemed negatives turned out to be non-issues -- all the connectors are solid and the MDF is adequate. There were a couple of real issues, though, and some things other's might care about even if I don't ...The finish on wood was nice, but if this were a show piece I was going to have in my living room (for some reason) I'd go over it with some sandpaper and put another coat of polyurethane on it. Don't get me wrong it's a nice smooth finish to work on and decent looking wood -- but not perfect. But it's for my workroom and the finish looked great to me (better than I would do if I were building something for my workroom). The only real issues were that the hole through the MDF the vice screw goes back into wasn't large enough to fit the screw and the washer on the end. 10 minutes with a wood file took care of that, though. And there were 3 joints that weren't quite cleaned out well enough to make a good joint (probably could have gotten it together anyway, but that same wood file cleaned them up in about 5 minutes each). All assembled, everything fits great and it's rock solid. As some others mentioned I did selectively glue some joints to increase strength, though in my case only the sides of the drawers. The rest of the connections seemed more than stable enough.
Great Deal - Looks Awesome!

Fantastic deal. Was looking for something like this for my recently renovated barn/workshop. Very easy to put together but watch that you do not drill pilot holes for drawer partition through the tabletop. Pilot holes probably not even necessary as the provided screws self-drill. Fits the character of my space perfectly and looks like an heirloom. You will not find anything like this elsewhere for this price - I've looked. As another reviewer stated, you could not even buy the lumber for the price of this bench.
Finally a resolution and I'm thrilled!!
from Lake Havasu City, AZ
I bought this product for use in my quilt room because my hubby had one and I thought it was gorgeous and I'm a huge fan of real wood vs mdf etc. I ordered one and it was damaged (I assume in shipping). After much of a run around, they replaced it and due to the heavy weight of the carton the replacement was damaged. I am, however, thrilled with the Corporate Office support I received. Communication with them was great, they were helpful and resolved my issues to my satisfaction completely! I love this workbench and highly recommend it, however I recommend the manufacturers pack the parts in TWO separate boxes so shipping won't be so heavy and parts won't get damaged due to shipping issues. Both boxes arrived damaged due to the straps and weight of the boxes. I still LOVE this workbench. We now have 3 in the house and if I had a bigger house I may get another one ... truly, it's a wonderful table. I'm also using it as a homeschooling / craft table and my 6 yr old daughter loves it!
