all these people need to stop complaining about this timing light it works just fine i have personally used it over 10 times. it is not the brightest or heavy duty but it works fine. for [$] stop complaining, if you dont like it go buy one of the big names, but it will do the same exact thing as this one

Ok, no one is going to argue that it is a heavy duty timing light. It isn't. It is a light duty timing light, bright enough to be used in an average garage during daylight hours. It's not going to do well in the driveway on a Florida sunny day, but my defunct pro timing light didn't do all that well under those conditions either. It does the job, no frills. If you're going to check your timing once or twice a year and you take care with the flimsy wires it will be fine. I just did both my cars with it and it survived fine. If you start yanking on wires to get things in to place, there will be trouble. But at [$] with 20% off I couldn't be more pleased.

El Cheapo light -- it works but only in near-dark conditions. I had to put truck into garage and turn off garage lights before I could see strobe. It did the job......

I returned the timing light a total of 3 times and not a single one worked. I decided to switch to the timing light with advance that HF sells, and it has been working great.

Bought this light to use for myself as I needed to verify timing on a motor. I hooked it up, pointed at the motor and it blinked maybe 4 times and never worked again.

I didn't expect this light to be anything but mediocre for the price. I was even more dissappointed to not even be able to use it once. Pure junk, spend the xtra money on a timing light that isn't going to be DOA out of the box.

I purchased this to work on a vehicle after my friend left his light at home one evening when he came to help me with my vehicle, and he lives farther away then the local harbor freight. I opted for this light instead of a more expensive one because usually I borrow one. I was hoping to get one use out of it. Unfortunatly the light isn't bright enough to shine and be visible past about 4 inches. I was working on a van and there was no way I could get that close. On top of that, we were working outside, and the light isn't strong enough to even be visible in dim sunlight. All in all, it is the one tool that I have had to return to HF because it was completely useless from the start. If considering a light from HF, Spend the money on the better one... its still cheaper than the cheapest light at an auto parts store.

Needed a timing light for about 15 minutes, it gave me 5 before it died. Not very bright.
