I picked these up on sale. Much to my surprise, they are way tougher than I expected. I engrave all my tools with my name. My carbide tipped electric engraver did not even break the surface, only the paint. I've abused them and they have not bent or broke. The only complaint I have with them is the color, but that is only a personal preference. It does make it very easy to see though. Overall, a real good value.

I really needed these while replacing the rear strut/spring assemblies on a 19 year old Toyota. That's 19 years of Michigan roadsalt on OEM struts. I got the 17mm nuts off with the HF 25" 1/2" drive breaker bar and an HF impact socket, then used the large pin punch and a 4 lb. engineer's hammer to drive the bolts out of the lower bracket. I used the small chisel around the brake line bracket, and once I had the upper end of a strut seated in the tower and its upper retaining bolts in place, I had to use the large centering (taper) punch to work the brackets on the lower end of the strut onto a VERY tight fitting, levering it through the holes to force them to line up. The tools only lost a very little bit of the perty green paint in the process, and just a few tiny marks in the brand new metal. Probably not as hard a steel as my D**** or E****** punches, but those aren't as large as these are, either. The pouch is pretty sturdy too.

I picked up this set not expecting much for the price and I got what I paid for. Even under light use these punches failed to deliver. I bent the large punch using it to light up a bolt hole on a strut. That's right, it bent just lining up a hole, no hammering. The chisels failed while trying to finish off a bearing race on a hub that had already been cut. Like I said i didn't expect much from this set of punches and chisels so I wasn't let down too badly. However with the ease that these fail I can't really think of a practical use for them.
