Got this tool mainly to set thread-nuts. Worked just as expected - didn't need to spend 500 plus for an air setter. As a diesel mechanic I really dont need to set thousands, but there is a variety of ranges for this application. Very pleased with how this works - only wish it set larger thread-nuts. And not too bad for setting blind rivets either (I have the 3/16 air riveter)

This is a great quality tool, much better than expected for the price. The only draw back is you cant buy additional rivnut mandrels AND there is no 10-32 rivnut mandrel with it. WHATS with that?!! I bought a 10-32 mandrel from ATS but the tool side of this riveter is metric threaded so the SAE mandrel wouldnt thread onto it. How about providing a 10-32 mandrel, replacement mandrels or threading both sides of the tool in SAE.

Overall the Rivit gun look like it could handle the job and seem like a pretty good deal. After total of "9" 3/16 rivits, the rivit gun was unable to snap the rivit shaft. Needless to say a huge disappointment. I may try getting the gun one more time and see how it goes ....
so far NOT dependable !!!

Does not do anything excellent. But it does almost everything. That is the problem with tools like this, made to do many different jobs. Its ok for most small jobs. But not great at any one job. And the color, green, not yellow or red....seems to get lost in shop clutter. And as others comment, no replacement parts sold by HF. And no rivnuts sold at HF for this or their other tool.

Unless I'm doing something wrong, this product does not work properly. I'm trying to secure rivet nuts to a 1/8" piece of aluminum and when I depress the handle to tighten the rivet, the mandrel pulls through the nut and strips it.
